You just reminded me of similarly tense films I like - Breakdown with Kurt Russell and The Lovely Bones.

I like the old surfing classic 'Endless Summer' too. Epic footage if anyone is a fan of surfing!

Interesting call with The Pledge: similar sort of theme to the Lovely Bones.

Best film is soo hard!

I might have to go for Annie Hall, or Casablanca, or Night of the Hunter,or..

Bloody hell.

Really enjoyed SLow West recently.And Untouchable, and True Grit.

Hard to get past Raiders or Empire though.

Warriors is stylistically fantastic! Hate the directrors cut version though were they have all the comic stripesque inserts between scenes, AND he's cut the lovely ending where they're on a pier or something as the sun begins to rise.

I've still not seen Convoy, but I have a fondness for Cable Hogue, and Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid.
