So, this morning my tv started switching itself on and off by its self. It's still doing it now. Doing my head in.

Before I throw something at it has anyone got any idea what might be causing it?

It's rather spooky .

Does it have a small touch on/off switch on the tv itself?

Belton

If you leave it on stand by your next door neighbours remote could be setting it off..my tv remote kept playing up my led lightbulb because of same frequencies

The neighbours have been having work done in the room adjacent to mine. Maybe something they've done?

Try turning the tv off then cleaning the button.

My old samsung tv used to do it

Weymouth

Our Samsung has done this before and cleaning the touch sensor solved it.

Also a change of batteries in the remote is worth a try, just in case.

When it's switched itself off do you have to turn it back on or does it do it itself ?

Have you tried the old resetting trick - unplug it from the wall for 30 seconds then replug.

Yeah mine was the same. Cleaning the sensor fixed it. Also had the remote button stuck in before.. block the IR sensor to see if that helps eliminate things.

Have you spilt anything on the remote ?

Sticky buttons ?

Try taking the batteries out, and see if that makes any difference

Not that I'm aware of. I'm trying to get on menu but the damn thing switches off before I can get to it.
