Wine snob or drink anything put in front of you?

Fine wine is wasted on me, and I am happy to drink anything providing it does not taste like battery acid.

I drink mostly red wine nowadays, usually vin de pays at home.

However, when the weather is nice, hot, and sunny, then I would be quite happy to down some chilled Lambrusco, in a pint glass!

I just like what I like. Sometimes its good stuff and sometimes not. For ages my favourite was a red from tesco at 3.99.

Mmm could just manage a glass or two now come to think of it...

i have been known to drink anything and everything offered to me in the past.

i was once put in charge of looking after all the drinks in a club while all my smoking ates went out for a fag - i looked after them real good but didnt get asked to do it again

i cant do posh wine, has to be rose or something tacky fizzy and white for me to drink it, my friend byys me my own stash if she is having a dinner party

I do like fine wines and champagnes, but not so much of a snob that I can't drink any wine as long as it's not too sweet.

I also like different tasting beers and guinness. vive la difference hic!

You'd be amazed at the wine you can get at Oddbins for under a tenner - way ahed of supermarket 'half-price' £5.99 vinegar.

Well worth seeking out a good wine...

I've had several male friends try to educate my pallet and oft bored me rigid on this wine or that. I tend to stick to rioja and shiraz, but I like Belgian fruit wheat beers and Peroni if I'm having a pizza!

My daughter and her ex were both managers of an oddbins, unfortunately they don't work for oddbins now...but ex son in law still works for a supplier in edin.

krug non vintage has to be the best champagne anything else i would use for a kir royal, rose over lots of ice in the summer is great im a chablis person and sue likes her merlot neither of us like the new world wines tho

I guess it all depends what you think is a wine snob. I don;t look at labels or prices but i like a decent drop of red or white and don't really like the vinegary stuff. Quite happy with new world vino or any that has a good body and puts a smile on mi face. The only think i ask is you pore it into a pint glass for me to drink it

I like good wines that have an industry expert cast his or her approval over. I'm not niave enough to know that they earn their living recommending wines but they live or die by those same recommendations - so they must know a thing or two.

Over the years my own palatte has developed and when I know a particular region had a very good year I'll hunt those bottles down with a passion.

Chateau Neuf Du Pape 2006

Any Bordeaux 2009

Those two are worth the money you spend on them but I've been disappointed so many times with Sainsbury's 4.99 bottles of gnat's piss that I trust my own way of selecting wines now.

...plus I've never buy a bottle from a supermarket for 6.99 that's half price of what it usually is - they're lying, if they had a bottle worth £14 they'd sell it for £20. You get what you pay for.

The wine itself was 3-figures, and was the second cheapest in their stock book.

Completely wasted on me.

My dad tried to teach me to appreciate brandy, however, I don't like the taste, except when it is part of a Brandy Alexander!

I like a nice wine.. I can tell cheap..and can not stand lambrusco.. its not wine.. its pop...

I never drink wine less than 12% unless rose and then I will settle for 11%.

However I prefer to drink champagne over wine.. and often have a bottle of champagne at the weekend.. however the stuff I really like is £140ish quid a bottle..

Years ago went to a Champagne tasting evening at the Portland hotel in Manchester. 12 Grand Cru houses.

Everyone was saving the Krug till last, when they opened their bottles everyone was corked, it turned out to be a fault, during bottling, can't remember the exact prob now. Luckily the Portland had a good supply of their own.

If I am preparing dinner, then I will splash out on wines which compliment each course. I have a great recipe for Champagne Granita.

Other than that I tend to make a weekend break in France and buy a good supply to bring home. It is still worth it.

Current fav is 'Laidback Ruby' A californian cabernet

can opnly be bopught in CO-Op store about £4
