We all have moments where we say stupid things but can there be anything as stupid as telling someone you have lost something and them asking where you last had it or saw it, just happened to me, I could not find my keys and was just asked where I last put them

Where you last saw them would be the logical place to look

Last saw them in your pocket.. Check there and then think about the next logical place you'd have put it.. If not then check the fridge
