You know the answer. As useful as a chocolate teacup.

if I knew the answer there would be no point asking the question...or about as much point as a chocolate teacup

Let me think about this.....

You put pictures on a public website.

You then threaten to sue if someone uses them.

You realise the perpetrator is on the other side of the world.

You instruct your solicitor to initiate proceedings anyway.

Ok, let's stop there......!

I get that but why do the stupid feckers put them on their profiles ...apart from of course to write anything about themselves

Think about it. Would you spend many thousands of pounds in legal costs to try to secure privacy for photographs that you have uploaded to a website. With little hope of success? It would be a cohocolate teacup scenario. Hence my post.

Torrox, Spain

We've seen lots of profiles where the disclaimer is three times longer than anything they say about themselves....

Doesn't make sense to us but hey, people can put what they want.

Seems a waste of ink to us.....

They can be legally binding, If anyone was actually going to take someone to court. But you don't need the statement as photo copyright is implicit to the person taking the picture, even if it is not their camera.

None of those idiots who put that rubbish in their profiles actually intend to sue anyone; they just hope that other people are as stupid as them...
