Shaven pussy

So undignified my lovely cat to have a shaven area of around 6 inches just so she can be neutered...my poor cat must be feeling the winter chill with this large patch of her fur shaved off!

Any vet people on here wondering why this large shaven area is really necessary?

I've no idea. They did it to my cat too

My only guess is that they found a previous scar and realised that she'd been done already. However rather than taking the risk that it was all good, they cut her open again to check.

I'd have taken the risk personally but I wasn't at my desk when they rang me so they made the decision.
