Just done it again for the fourth time only that that has really changed is now at the end, instead of just going into a room to perform CPR and answer a couple of question from someone that has not been giving you the training, now their is a exam at the end, multiple choice questions.

I've looked into one quite a few times but they seem to run them so infrequently.

Whether much has changed or not it is a legal requirement to be refreshed every three years fir first aid at work.

Assuming you want to continue to be a first aider that is...no one can make you of you work for a company.

it's run by safeaidservices, they do a lot of stuff for Birmingham city council and the education department, but it's not just strictly for them, it is a good course, we should all know it really, just for are own and family's safety.

It can't be. It's a voluntary role, they cannot force people to be first aiders.

If it's in the contract, ( which OP says it is) then they have every right to enforce it.

If you didn't want to do it, you should have negotiated it out of your contract .
