Maybe about five miles further south down the coast.

Have family way down in Southern Spain and Gibraltar but wouldn't fancy Benidorm.

There are much nicer places in Andalucia to live than Benidorm

Check out a place called La Alcadeisa in Andalusia. It's 20 mins from Gib airport and 45 from Malaga.

The place is lovely and quaint but not exactly Benidorm

Affordable houses with the Gib job market on the doorstep.

No thanks, I'd rather have a place by the seaside and a holiday home abroad

I have a flat in a very Spanish village - no foreigners and nobody speaks English - about 30 kilometres inland from Benidorm. I wouldn't live in Benidorm or any of the expat populated areas. Plus my flat is huge and cost peanuts.

I thought about doing the same with Gibraltar after watching the TV program but chickened out.

Gibraltar is a shithole unless you are absolutely minted. The Spanish side Concepcion de la linea is like a third world hovel. Expats working on the rock normally live about 20 minutes down the road.

The Atlantic side of Gib towards Capo de Trafalgar is beautiful and no English

London and France

Benidorm is a dump.

Spain generally is a fairly chaotic place to live in permanently.

There are far better places in Europe

I thought La Linea was like a level from Call of duty.

We are planning to move to Spain (not Benidorm) as soon as our house has sold.

Watching the programme certainly puts us of even visiting Benidorm lol

Ha ha ha I too have a bolt hole in a place where a full English is nowhere to be found. We have a bakers where a loaf cost 50% more than the uk but its bread! The butcher kills and prepares the meat and its gorgeous.
