Have you ever dreamed of owning one or have you owned one.

What are the pit falls of owning one what are the plusses.

I would love to own one but the size and running costs just put me off.

I had a Winnebago for a while. The only real downsides were fuel consumption and finding places where I could empty the black water tank.

I never thought I'd hear myself say it... but if I were doing it again I'd buy a VW size camper or a caravan.

It's a total pain in the arse being stuck in one place once you've set up. If you had a car with a caravan then at least you can go out for dinner if you're in the middle of nowhere rather than packing up all your shit then coming back.

A VW sized van is a good size for the UK. You need to be able to park them in towns carparks etc.... Big Motorhomes great for continent.

We saw Winnebago's in France that had cars inside them!!!

Did the VW thing with an awning for years which was ok but I'd prefer a caravan with separate sleeping area!!!

Looking into air tents at the moment but need a bigger car

Air tents are the latest fashion in outdoor camping but to be brutally honest, having worked in this industry all my life...... They are not that good...

Don't stand up to high winds and heavy rain.... You have to be very carefull there are no thrones on the ground when putting up as puncture easily and damn hard to find and fix.

If it were me Id still go with old fashioned poles but really good quality think Alluminum ones

You should see the muthafukin' rockstar battle bus my American millionaire has laid on for Burning Man this year.

It's insane. It has buttons you press and the sides come out.

With all possible due respect, shit on you.

OK if in America, in the UK you are confined to motorway routes and often can't take the turn into camp sites.

I did a road trip in America last year and couldn't believe the size of the motor homes. Definitely not for our roads.

Winning are great for the straight open roads of the US and I had a hoot driving across Canada west-east in one.

Any thing over 20ft in this country would be a nightmare

Honestly if you were considering a tent I would agree with his assessment. The inflatable tents are a needless ,expensive, ineffective , puncture prone, over complicated solution to a non problem ,

Ridged poled tents are infinity more robust

Don't go huge don't go too cheap don't go technical

Practice , a couple of hours or 4 well spent before commencing will give a lifelong enjoyable experience

Buy the most expensive super hard heavy tent pegs and put aside the ones that come with the tent , buy a big hammer ( this would apply even with a blow up )

I am no fan of big America style motor homes , but love the vw , transit custom style as a kite surfer/ mountain biker am mid conversion now . I prefer to camp but have too much stuff

Whatever though just get out there xxx

We hired on years ago, one of the larger UK models. I think they are brilliant but, would prefer the smaller version.

As someone has stated,

The running costs are high,

Finding somewhere to park the thing is a nightmare,

Most villages are not motor home friendly,

Driving the things is ok on decent roads.

To answer the original question;

" no" and "no"

I'll stick to decent hotels... Be waited on hand and foot,

Someone else cooks, cleans, makes my food....etc etc....

Do you have a pump up one as you find hard erections difficult ? Or you just don't like to spend time getting a hard pole in preferring just to pump away merrily till it's hard enough ?
