Can anyone help a couple of non technical forumites with a log in problem? Since this morning the only site we can sign in to is this one...The book of face, Yeeha and even our broadband provider won't even show us the log in page and just says 'computer says no'. Done a security scan and deleted something it picked up (a malware) and still no access so any help gratefully accepted but please keep it simple if possible.

Try a different browser? Could be in the browser itself. If that works remove and reinstall. Chrome dies a lot. If that don't work your system might be compromised and need a wipe

In much the same vein as those above, and if you've checked you can log in ok from other devices

1) clear your cookies and browser history. If that doesn't work

2) try a different internet browser from your normal one. If that doesn't work

3) try installing and running a different cleaner (sorry, don't know which one you have). CCleaner is good but a decent spyware cleaner AS WELL is a good option. If that doesn't work

4) reset to a previous point

That was first thing we did and have just reset the hub but still can only log in to Fab. Other sites are accessible (Youtube, weather etc) but the ones we have to sign in on just won't load. Seems strange we can only sign in here

yeah that is weird, what came up as malware? have you deleted it?

if PUPs come up, i tend not to delete those as they're not usually malware and my adblock blocks it anyway.

Not sure what it was but P deleted it after an Avast sweep picked it up. To be perfectly honest until we found Fab I had zero interest in computers so pretty much all the advice given beyond turning it off and on again is gobbledygook to me...PUPs are small dogs and cookies are what Courtney calls biscuits. P should be awake in a bit so see what she makes of the suggestions and we'll see what happens next.

lol ok. i won't bother explaining.

not everything picked up by anti-virus and malware detectors is actually threatening to your computer that's why i asked. also some threats can be FUD so not picked up even, so i tend to try to do things manually rather than rely on programmes but have resorted to them and system restore ocassionally.

good luck, if i notice more replies in here i will pop in to see if you need any more help.

if you're on wifi, maybe try to connect directly to your router and see if it's your connection that's the problem. only tip i can think of for now.
