whats the point in winking when there profiles hidden ?

kinda defeats the object does it not ?

Depends why they have hidden the profile in the first place. Winks can still be sent by friends or people they have been in touch with previously and have seen the profile in question..

A reminder they are still there. We have people on my friends lost who wink periodically, shows their still interested or want to know if your still around etc.

Ah, I thought you meant the option to wink at someone. Yes a bit random to get a wink from someone with a hidden profile, no idea about that
