That's my technique. My housemates came home one night to find the front room walls covered in post it notes of various colours.

I used to write on index cards and stick them on walls or carry them around with me.

If it's not sticking / take a break and come back to it. Sometimes you've retained more than you think you have.

Edinburgh

Bite-sized chunks, one topic at a time. Think: could I teach/explain this to the dullest person I know? If yes, move on to the next chunk; if no, then you do not know it properly yet and get back to the post-its all over the house. Just because you understand it when you google/wiki it, does not mean you actually know it. Knowledge is deeper than understanding.

LONDON (se)

When i trained as a beauty therapist i really struggeled with the anatomy and physiology part. I found out a trick of subconcious learning. I got posters of the systems i needed to know and had them on my wall by my bed. Seeing the same thing every day without ever paying too much attention to detail but scanning over them each time i was in the bedroom really helped.

I don't need to be thinking about revision for at least another 3 months...

and if I don't know it by then I may as well give up now

"Nothing is going in!!!! "

are you sure?

I often think that but it is surprising what does go in (and stays there) even before you have thought about retaining it for revision purposes!!

failing all else have you tried mind maps...??

One should always revise.

I have my daughter revise at least once a week for her GCSEs and they are next year for her.
