Nice and quiet today no chavs in P J,s parking in there car,s phone in one hand with face book fag in the other blocking the street up talking got my paper right away at the shop did not have to wait for them to do the scratch card love school holidays

And average looking ones who don't smoke or put make up on,or drive. I've never seen anyone in pyjamas at my grandson's school. Except on wear pyjamas day.

Right, so it's not about not being able to sell the house to a family, it's because you don't want to. Excuses excuses. Just be honest!

Perhaps you will quit moaning about the school if you don't WANT to move? It's quite tiresome and i'm sure i'm not the only person bored of it.

I think if something changed in my area that I hated, I'd try as hard as possible to move.

The housing market isn't dreadful at the moment, in fact some are saying the bubble will burst this year so it's a good time to sell if you want to move. Who knows?

I do know I'd do my best to move if I hated my area.

Yeah but those kids aren't going to kids forever,it may be great living next to a school when your kids are off school age,but I wouldn't want to be near one when they've left

No-one close has children? Even if that is the case, life cycles of housing means than it will change over the long term? If it's a good school - it could actually increase your house value so it's not all bad is it?

Parents some of them anyway "do" park inconsiderately on the school run even dangerously and a lot of them have the attitude that it's their right to park on double yellows, grass verges, double park etc. It's wrong. They give the considerate ones a bad name.

This is true. I live very close to a school too and the parking situation is dreadful.

However, getting wound up about it only has a negatively impact on me.

I don't want to move so it's something I accept I'm choosing to live with.

That's smart!

I live next to a school too but I never have issue with parking cause my car generally doesn't move much during the week.

The only time it's ever really busy is on parents evening. I'm fairly sure most of the kids are pretty local though, I'd imagine they walk to school.

If it's that's bad - why don't a group of you talk to the school ? They will generally send a letter out to parents, they can even get the local PCSO to monitor it and issue warnings.

It's 20 mins twice a day ? It's just not worth getting wound up about - it's like parking outside houses generally. Nowadays - new developments - they never cater for the amount of cars per household. It's only going to get worse. I've seen some situations which amazed me where people seem to lose all sense when "their" space on the road outside their house is taken. People just lose all logic.

Wish I was- but at least the roads were clear so my mum could get here tardily to look after my Small while I am at work!

Maybe if you weren't so quick to judge so many people in a negative way you'd be less stressed about it?

Never..have i seen anyone arrive at our school with pj's on..

Infact id have to say that the parents who bring thier children to school here look very smart for 8:30 in the morning.

Some ready to go off to work, some house mums just dressed in day to day wear to go back home and do house chores.

I for one, do not wear make up, or glam up....but nor do i wear pj's to do the school run!!

And as for chavs!! SOOOO WHAT!! If they are happy, loving parents, then who the hell are we or anyone to judge the way they choose to live.

These threads are utter snobbery that really boil my piss.

I don't think there was ever a time (with 4 young children) that I ever looked "presentable" on a school run and you know I just didn't care.

I remember very distinctly once dropping off my children in my slippers (an oversight on my part). Sometimes I hadn't even brushed my hair so just stuck a hat on.

This wasn't because I was a "chav" or I was lazy. It was because I chose to spend quality time with my children before school. That was my routine. Other people have other routines and who am I to judge that their routines are not acceptable.

We are so quick to judge people and quite frankly it sucks.

My parents lived right by a school before they moved and it was a nightmare.

Some had the attitude that they could park where they liked and heaven help anyone that questioned them about it.

Parking on zig zags,pavements, yellow lines across dropped curbs and even double parked.

Then you had the parents that let their kids pick peoples flowers from their gardens. Hang on gates, kick and climb fences, play football on driveways while they stand and chat.

I'm glad that I don't have to do the school run anymore and that they've moved.

I'm glad to see people miss me on the school run

However, I'm not sure what Uni would think about me turning up in my pjs. But then they're only pjs cos we say so, what I wear as pjs could quite well be accepted on the school run.
