We've had a few curious subject lines before. I've always assumed that it was a very intelligent way to a) make you open the message & b) encourage you to reply. Voilà! Suddenly a conversation has started...

I suspect it's nothing more sinister than they can't think of a subject and "G" is in the middle of the keypad when you are using a Mobile ...it's easy to hit with your thumb.
