Democracy is as open to corruption as any other form of government. Given that we have the unelected farce that is the House of Lords in operation, we're hardly transparent.

When rival leaders at the time were De Gaulle, mad Benito, and Adolf himself, I think we could let Churchill have some credit. He knew the value of a good coalition, let's give him that.
