The land of grey peas and bacon

So I have a sinus infection so have lost my sense of taste and smell, I am praying it does come back as I hate it. It's a horrible feeling and I think we take our senses for granted and how much we rely on them on a daily basis.

My ex lost his sense of taste for years and they never found out why, despite an MRI scan

I'm glad that I still have all six of mine

I wouldn't want to be without any of them

It's never happened to me before and it's slightly freaking me out that it won't come back

I hate it when you are have a cold and lose your sense of taste - food just becomes different textures and it's disgusting.

My mum lost her sense of taste for a few months (weirdly she was on antibiotics to do with her toenails and that's what caused it ) but she lost 4st because she figured she may as well only eat cottage cheese as everything tasted of it anyway.

I had an eye infection a few years back and had terrible blurry vision in one eye.

It was horrible, and I have so much respect for people who are visually impaired.

I am partially sighted in one eye due to an accident, it is quite a wake-up call as little things you took for granted like peripheral vision aren't there anymore.

Central

I'd go for saline irrigation and menthol/eucalyptus steam inhalation.

Our senses are an essential part of staying connected to our world. I really value mine, after issues - now cleared - when I was younger.
