Sod that, straight out of the packet and onto the bed.

As for ironing it normally, nope, I remove it from the washer immediately after it has finished, then fold it and hang on readiator/washing line, which minimises creases.

completely with you on this - I always iron all my bedding. Most noticeable with the bottom sheet ironed - so crisp and cool. I have never worn or given my boys anything (apart from one emergency purchase for travel sickness) to wear straight out of the packaging or hanger. Who knows how much time (and dust) has gone before you pick it up from the shop? As ever with these threads, it is of course personal taste. Even with the sheets folded in half though the ironing board is just that bit too narrow.

Most of my mates take the piss although some will concede that their other halves will iron bedding and one or two even iron the towels. I tried that once and they were lovely and soft but can't be arsed with that.

God, what a MAN I am.

I can be a clumsy sod so I don't wear the irons out they just seem to fall off the damn board so easily. I did like the feeling of the towels after ironing and if I have parents or friends over I do theirs but not mine.

Iron - that's a four letter word in this house.

Washed sheets go straight into the tumble dryer and get smoothed as folded when they come out. Being fitted sheets they fit so tightly on the mattress that any creases disappear like magic.

Love fresh sheets on a bed.

I don't iron anything if I can help it! I never understand people who spend a day doing their ironing. WTF?! Life is way too short to spend days ironing. If I HAVE to iron then I do it on a NEED basis... if I really can't get away with wearing that item of clothing without ironing it then it gets ironed. If I can get away with it then I don't bother. I sometimes even just iron the front of stuff so that I can chuck a cardi or a jacket over it!

I always wash new bedding before using it.

But I hate ironing and hardly every iron anything at all. I buy clothes that don't need ironed if I can but do have a couple of beautiful linen shirts that have to be ironed. If I'm wearing a jumper I don't bother to iron what's going on underneath

Moral to washing new bed linen - was up at my ex's over Christmas and noticed my stepdaughter's arms were a pale blue colour. On checking her whole body was the same and no-one could work out why, it didn't wash off in the bath and she was like that for several days!! By process of elimination we eventually realised she had put a new duvet cover straight onto the bed without it being washed first and the colour was coming out!!!!
