I've got an abscess under an eye tooth!

Every time I close my mouth it feels like I've been stabbed in the face.

Emergency dentist can't see me until tomorrow and zapain isn't touching the pain.

So, before I get the monkey wrench and pull the fucker has anyone got home remedies that work?

Pulling it will make it worse, you need antibiotics, do you have a walk in minor trauma clinic?

I've already tried them, apparently they won't do teeth for insurance reasons - you can imagine that was well received...

I truthfully think that all you can do is deaden the pain with codeine and paracetamol. Go to your nearest pharmacy and emphasise how painful it is and they might give you whatever they can to help you out overnight. I empathise wholeheartedly.

I've got zapain which is 30mg codein and 500mg paracetamol but its not touching it.

Going to go and get some clove oil and try it but have the monkey wrench soaking in milton fluid as I type

That's the maximum I think . My dad did use a chisel on his tooth once, it didn't end well as it slipped and went through his tongue. Leaving you in this much pain is barbaric

Could you try and get the emergency doctor or dentist to prescribe you some tramadol or similar. They did it by phone for me once.

Tooth pains the worst! Have you tried co-codamol or co-codydramol. They're strong pain killers. I know gp can prescribe them. Don't know if pharmacist can though! I know they can do some things. I can only offer a huge hug and sympathy otherwise. (((((hugs))))). Xx

A glass of brandy.....just swirl each mouthful around in your mouth for a minute or so...you don't need to drink it, just spit it out after each swirl,if you want.

Thank you all for your comments.

Clove oil!? Why is this miracle (but vile tasting) cure not more widely publicised?

Combined with salt rinses the zapain finally took hold and knocked me out...dentist at 10:15 tomorrow thank god!

Diluted tcp, swill it round your mouth and spit it out, keep a mug full at hand to repeat the process.

Ouch . Totally sympathise. I ended up going to A and E and getting a shot of painkillers. It was unbearable and I couldn't find anything that helped at home. It felt like my face was caving in. Hope you're ok and managing
