Tomorrow we are off to see a show in London, will have a few hours spare though.

We were thinking of going to the Tate Modern or the National Portrait Gallery.

Where do you like going in London, as we like seeing something different every time we travel up.

Tate modern is good. If you are there in the morning a wander around borough market is great. Camden too. My main issue is keeping j away from Oxford street

They have a sex exhibition there. I think it's still there I believe. They've got centuries old dildos. From the stone ages...

Keep meaning to stop in and have a look, but I've been to busy to do so....

Camden Town , and Covent Garden our favourites . Would do Camden first as Covent in west end by theatres and a trip up and down river on clipper ??

That's a great idea !

On the way have a stroll down the river past city hall, you'll get a great view of the city from there. It's always worth checking out Borough Market fir a bite to eat as it's a short walk from Tower Bridge.

Tate would be a good call.

Stroll down the South Bank.

Kensington Gardens / Palace.

Fortnum & Masons / Harrods.

One of the markets, Camden / Borough / Covent Garden.

Maybe have a drink & people watch.

See if you can visit the bar at the Shangri La (up the Shard) or The Tower Hotel / Rooftop Radio Bar.

Depends where your show is & how much time you have. there are engineering works on the tube network tomorrow so just double check your theatre route.

Get a clipper (commuter boat) from London eye down to Greenwich (have a glass of wine on board) and see some sites (get all day ticket and hop on off at tower, canary wharlf etc)

Many great suggestions already, if you want to try really good Mexican food, Cafe Pacifico in Lawley St. Just up from Pinapple Dance. They do a superb lunch and a beer for £10. It's about 300 seconds from Covent Garden Tube.

Rules is another place to eat but as far removed from Cafe Pacifico as you can get, very traditional English food from their own estates. It's the oldest family owned restaurant in London. Has Gerald Scarf cartoons all over the walls and tail coated staff who are excellent. The Salisbury pub on I think St Martins Road great pub good beer nice atmosphere.

on the road to nowhere in particular

The cafe in borough market does an excellent breakfast, you can walk along the south bank from there past Shakespeare's Globe to the Tate Modern and from there continue past the royal festival hall all the way to Westminster bridge. Lots of street entertainment going on at the weekend. I would recommend it.

Sadly the sexology exhibit finished. I also wanted to go to see it, I sorta work there so had no excuses really.

If you have time and as you are doing the war museum next time, try the Hendon air museum. It's free to get into you just pay for parking.

May I suggest the London Dungeon and the London Tombs. Beware though...The latter is not for the faint hearted!!
