Becoming a Porn Star

Yes, I have sent off to various agencies and have a few 2 interviews.

Just wanted to know if anyone else has tried doing this? I know it's not what we watch on the internet but I'd still like to give it a go. Just wondering if you have done this are there certain things I should say in the interview? Say I'm up for or anything? Any help would be appreciated

Nothing sarcastic please

I did watch a program of 4 lads looking to become porn stars a while back.

They where all full of beans at the start of the adventure but they found having a room for 20 - 30 people whilst filming was a big distraction and hindered their performance. Its not for everyone but good luck I hope you make a go of it.

Nothing of any assistance to add in terms of interview technique... but remember once it's out there, you can't take it back!

The only thing i've semi-reliably heard about applying to become a male pornstar is that it's likely you'll be asked to do gay scenes (even if you're straight).

Apart from that, I'd assume it'd help to come across as broad-minded (considering it's quite possible you could be asked to shoot stuff for certain fetishes you aren't personally into).

Good luck by the way

I would be careful saying you're up for anything, the imaginations of the porn industry aren't as innocent ad you might be used to

Wish you well OP but take plenty of advice and with respect look at an alternate career of it doesn't work out.

Learning to direct may be an idea too

To be honest even if I had the stamina and body, I wouldn't do it.

Sex is important to me and to turn it into a job isn't something I would want. It removes the fun out of it.

By all accounts it is also no longer well paid. I understand female models are better paid then male models, and I further understand female models might earn £500 a shoot.

Another factor is the lack of production that happens in the UK. Recent changes in law has made what some of us would consider to be quite vanilla acts to be illegal. It would therefore seem that in order to do well at it, you need to get the interest of the remaining producers in the UK such as killergram then try and get the interest of the American producers.

Admittedly some British guys have done well for themselves. Not sure that many people know Brazzers starlet Danny D started out doing gay porn despite not being gay.

As with all interviews be yourself. If not it will unravel and you won't be happy with what you are doing it have done. Equally be reasonably open minded.

good luck

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

It's not glamourous , the ladies I know who work in the industry say it's not sexy.., I'd guess it's a pretty short lived career as well for most. Enjoy the journey no matter where it leads.

on the road to nowhere in particular

The pay ratios are something like 6-1 towards females. When you start they will want to know you can perform on command. In front of the whole crew with the oldest ugliest actor that they can find.

The money is in gay porn. Many straight actors are "gay for pay"

Good luck to to the OP

No offence but don't you have any better career opportunities?

Porn is good money for what it is and I don't personally have any moral problems with it. However, I've read a lot of horror stories about how former actors / actresses are treated in the vanilla world after their careers. As unfair as that is, do you really know what you are letting yourself in for? Look at how "Jenny Gauge" was treated when she tried to become a nurse after she quit the industry. Unfortunately she had to come back years later because of how she was treated.

Bree Olsen recently did something along these lines. She retired in 2011 and is struggling.

As wrong as it is, I don't think the same stigma attaches to men and women for finding work after porn

Maybe not but I don't think you'll find much sympathy from ACAS if a bitchy HR person decides that your videos bring the company into disripute, especially gay for pay

One of the more practical points I was thinking about was that some male adult performers do not get the same press attention and therefore were likely to be unrecognisable. I think the issue for many female performers is no matter where they go or what they do, they are recognised making a 'normal' life very hard
