Weird Habits

So, weird habits... We all have them.

These are things I do:

Smell the letter paper when I open an envelope!

When I'm working, when I save a document, I continually press ctrl+s maybe 5 times in one go!

Sometimes, if I watch TV (rarely), I sometimes find myself repeating a sentence to myself!

Which weird things do you do?

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I count syllables and tunes on my fingers. If I don't finish on my little finger I do it again until I do.

Away with the fairies (Liverpool to you)

I smell everything....especially when I shopping and I count everything...steps, paving stones, bricks in a wall....I also add up my shopping in my head as I go round and want to cry if I am more than 10p out at the till - just some of the random stuff that happens in my head

I've done all of the above. So glad it isn't just me

When I have a glass of water I have to rinse the glass 4 or 5 times before filling it.

My Ice Castle! South Wales

I eat things in two's

I like things in even numbers but if asked to pick a number for something it's usually an odd number.

There used to be more but I've broken habit of some

When I'm making a tea or coffee I can't stop stirring! Everyone comments on how long I stir for but I just can't stop!! When I do stop I feel like I have to do it again just to make sure!!

I add the numbers together on the number plates of cars then work out which cars have the most. Ford focuses are top with vw golf s close second. I also try to stand on the cracks in pavement till I count to 100. Very annoying when I get to 99 and can't get to a last crack!

Do not know where that habit came from.

I have a number of unfinished jobs, because I'm not particularly obsessive enough. I go abroad on holidays, leaving the front door wide open - I don't get halfway down the road and return to check.

Lots of habits at work, the staff roll their eyes at me a lot when I go along making sure napkins are facing the right way, all the handles on the cups are also pointing the same way, spirits are arranged together, darks and lights, shots etc.

I think they hate me coming out of the office

my son is on the autism spectrum and he has a whole host of 'traits'...

he has to feel and smell everything he comes into contact with..

if he doesn't like the texture of something he will refuse to wear it

he has to put his clothes on in a certain order and if he doesn't for whatever reason, he stresses about it for ages..

he calls zips on coats prisons and refuses to do them up..

I don't want to play autism down, but that's quite endearing and cute

Yeah I'm just a bit odd I think. I have a host of texture issues and wear latex gloves a lot in the kitchen cause I can't touch certain things.

I do a lot of things in order but I've always just thought I'm a creature of habit.

I park in the same space both at home and the likes of the supermarket. I sit on the same seat on the bus every day. I open my web pages in a certain order. I have my desktop a certain way. The icons on my phone. I don't notice I'm doing it any more but when you say all that out loud, I'm not sure how normal it is to care about these things.

Yep, I'm guilty of this. Not just the telly either.

You Dont Need to Know, right now

I'm a 'counter' too.... if a novel or t.v. show refers to a letter with e.g. 17 words, I have to count the words, to make sure they've counted correctly.

And a major hazard on Fab, every time I see the word accommodate, I have to check to make sure it spelled with 2 m's. Fortunately, Fab knows how it's spelled, but when people talk about 'accomodating' on their profile, I cringe
