No. It's a perpendicular sausage roll.

No because it's the wrong way round. If you turn it 90 degrees, it becomes a sandwich.

Perpendicular to what ?

It's a horizontal bread roll filled with mashed pig.

Perpendicular to the usual roll fissure. Rotated by 90 degrees.

by the big field

As a sandwich is defined as 'two or more pieces of bread with a filling' then the answer is no, as it's a single bread item with filling- if, however, you get a bit over zealous with the knife when facilitating the 'dog slot', and cut the roll in to two pieces- then you may have a debate as to that then falls into the sandwich category, or just the clumsy cook category

So if you cut a baguette like a hot dog bun, filled it with bacon, lettuce and tomato.... It's not a BLT Sandwich?

A hotdog is another name for a frankfurter or a wiener ...

It is also an expression of delight... Apparently

Everything gets mashed in your mouth, people are highly hypocritical in their belittling of sausages due to their inherent dependence on the mashing process.

"So if you cut a baguette like a hot dog bun, filled it with bacon, lettuce and tomato.... It's not a BLT Sandwich?"

Ooh now there's a question.

Hmm, I think when I get a baguette I say I'm eating a baguette rather than eating a sandwich. So a baguette falls more into the hot dog camp than the sandwich camp.

little house on the praire

It can be a yes or no answer.

Hotdogs are long sausages, if you put them between two slices of bread its a sandwich if you put it in a long roll like most people then no it's not a sandwich.

A sandwich is something between slices of bread

Hotdog sausages on sliced bread is a Hotdog sandwich (and not very tasty in my opinion).

Hotdog sausages on a roll, with boiled onions and ketchup and mustard is a Hotdog (getting better but still not good)

A good quality sausage, on a roll with fried onion, and a nice relish, is a Hotdog (now were talking)

Good quality sausage on thick sliced crusty bread with onion gravy so think you can stand a spoon up in it, is a sausage sandwich (ohh, stop, wait. Don't move. I don't want to go over the edge, mmmmmmmm, Ohh to late I'm there) anyone git a cigarette

London and France

"An item of food consisting of two pieces of bread with a filling between them, eaten as a light meal"

Oxford English Dictionary

So a baguette could be a sandwich as long as the two halves of bread are completely separated; if still joined at one side, it's a "filled" baguette....?

Though Mirriam-Webster adds " or split roll"

However, a court in Boston, Massachusetts , did rule that a sandwich must consist of " two pieces of bread"

Hot Dogs are frankfurters in hot dog rolls.

There is no need to put sliced bread round that

Trading Standards may disagree with mashed pig - if tinned hot dog sausages are used then it's mashed chicken

'mashed chicken' being used in the loosest-possible sense...I know someone whose wife worked in TS, the cheapest contained little more than ground beaks and rusk (still tasty tho')

I once told a mother, who reminded me that [little johnny] was a vegetarian "don't worry, they're really cheap hotdogs, I doubt there's any meat in them at all!

(In jest, obvs)

OP: No, nor do they contain any actual dogmeat...

No, because a sandwich is made of 2 independent slices of bread with a filling. A hotdog is a bun with a notch in it

I hate to further confuse you Granny, but you do realise that a Victoria sandwich is actually a cake, whereas a custard cream is actually a cream-biscuit sandwich...

Sorry
