Can I just point out that violets are actually purple, or even 'violet'.

Now try finishing that effin rhyme

(I'm not sure even 'mauve' helps, apart from, tenuously, 'betrothe'?)

Get out of here - I've seen My Fair Lady, proper violets are definitely purple (and are always accompanied by someone humming "On the Street Where You Live"

You do realise that the longer this thread continues, the more chance there is that I'll end up making an ill-considered crack about 'pansies'

I can rhyme 'yella' with 'fella', or mellow, 'pink/stink/wink', and 'white/might/fight' but now 'African violets' won't scan
