So what have you seen on the tinterwebs, that is a lie, but just won't go away?

Someone told me, (whilst at work, and I work for a bank), that entering your pin number backwards alerts the authorities.... This has been on the web since 2006 and has never implemented.

I do like the one where climate change deniers state... C02 is perfectly natural, were made of carbon, trees eat carbon, c02 naturally occurs!

They just don't seem to get it's dosage that kills not it's naturally occurringness.

Hello Bythedoors,

"They just don't seem to get it's dosage that kills not it's naturally occurringness."

all 0.05% of it in the earth's atmosphere.

And how much of that is due to burning fossil fuels, less than 10% is the figures I've seen quoted.

Bollocks. Utter pish.

Volumes have increased vastly in the last 100 years. The concentration in our air is higher. It is a low percentage but still high enough to cause trouble. Same with other worse gasses.

We are at the point now where we can continue with the "head in the sand" horseshit people like you wheel out, or we can actually look and see what reality is and act to save our species.

Would you rather have an easy life and fuck everyone over in the future? Fucking selfish.

.

Hello Alec.

Yes your correct it's a trace gas in the atmosphere!. However what we know through scientific examination and have done for about 130 years since Tyndall and then Arrhenius is that the trace gases like c02, methane and water vapour are climate forces, now since the industrial revolution we've increased that c02 by about 33% , we know that the higher we get the c02 concentrations, the warmer it will get! This is NOT a conspiracy, it's held true by every scientist, it's just factual!... Now climate is very very complicated there's lots of positive reinforcers like the methane clathrates, tree die off, Arctic and Antarctic ice melt etc etc and theres lots of negative feedbacks like sulphate aerosols put out by shipping...

However to deny the science of C02 and its climate effects is akin to denying I can get free porn on my laptop and wank.... There's a direct correlation

. were currently putting out 2500 tonnes per second... I think it's possible we might be able to cut that back a bit!...

Of course a bit is pointless were need to reduce that by 90% by a minimum of 2050 but preferably by 2030 just 14 years time to negate the worst of what awaits us!.

That's the modest thought!...

There's a whole bunch of climate scientists who think that by 2030 it will be to late to stop anyway and that once we bring in enough positive reinforcement effects like the diminishing ice, the methane clathrates, Siberian permafrost methane... Well the evidence suggests it runs it own agenda then and c02 becomes a sideshow

.

I should also have added that the natural carbon cycle of input/output is being degraded by just our way of life (industrialisation)... So that 4% figure is a bit misleading, carbon is being leached from soils at ever greater rates, ocean acidification is at 3 million year levels... Nature has literally absorbed our excesses for decades and now looks to have decided... Fuck you, I can't take anymore attitude!

You change it by switching the outer numbers for the inner numbers and then enter backwards. So, 2662 becomes 6226. Personally, is find difficulty entering it backwards anyway. How do you read the screen and reach round to enter, if you're backwards? One option would be to ask the next person to enter it for you, whilst facing backwards from the cash point.

My favorite was a story about a soldier being refused service at a Telco store in London because he was wearing his uniform. This didn't sound right so before passing judgment on the whole chain and switching to Asda, I did a little research, not only did the incident not happen, but there is no Tesco store in the location mentioned in the "story",

And another story about an illegal immigrant that escaped a hospital and was running around on the lose infecting people, that one even had nhs banners on it and did look like it had been issued by the nhs, but when it described the man as "the black immigrant" I thought it odd that the normally very pc would use that particular phase, so I dug a bit deeper, and yes it was bullshit,

So I cam only gather that these people are not putting "britan first" but I could be wrong.

Somebody seems to share at least one, clearly without checking it first, on Facebook on a daily basis.

I have no time for veganism as it is patently a bad idea. However there is no reason to complain about a vegan being in charge of farming given that all they eat comes from a farm in the same way most of what a normal non-deluded person eats comes from a farm too. It seems silly to draw that distinction.

I mean you've got Palin and her creationism's

Bachman and her "ideas" on economics

Bushes invasions which he couldn't even point to on a map

Or there's Ted Cruz, marco rubio, Ben Carson and Donald trump that just flat out denounce climate science... Ted Cruz was actually on the congressional science panel... The other guy on the committee who I can't even remember flat out denied evolution.. And there on the friggin science committee!

Just what the fuck... How an earth are we gonna fix big problems when the politicans that chair them think the earth is 6000 years old?

I agree with you other than it seems on par with putting a vegan in charge of farming and the belief that printing money raises living standards.

I have no time for veganism as it is patently a bad idea. However there is no reason to complain about a vegan being in charge of farming given that all they eat comes from a farm in the same way most of what a normal non-deluded person eats comes from a farm too. It seems silly to draw that distinction."

You understand that the person was a self described "militant vegan" who thinks eating meat should be treated and discouraged like smoking?

Can you see why she probably isn't a good representative for the interests of farmers?

I once read a blog claiming George bush was really clever but just acted the bafoon... That's beyond Oscar material

I wouldn't say he was clever but he was a raging alcoholic which explains some of his behaviour. Some of his best quotes were made up by lefties too. He never said "most of our imports come from other counties" for example. .

That's true but my absolute favourite bushism was his rambling that the trouble with the French is they don't have a word for entrepreneur .

Oh he made plenty of real gaffs indeed! On the serious side he made a Freudian slip talking about rejecting Iranian influence when he meant to say Iraq. Although my favourite was "our enemies never stop thinking of new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we". He was to the left what Mr Corbyn is to the right; comedy gold..

Oh American right wing politicans are comedy gold above and beyond anything else.

Organic farming goes against vegan principles
