I think I have just made a traffic wardens day he threatened to give me a ticket for being on double yellow lines. I said I am at my delivery point. He still wanted to ticket me so I said go on then if it makes you happy lol.

Oh to make someone's day

On the first day of new parking restrictions in soho the traffic warden followed the milkman down the street and gave him a ticket every time he stopped. He got over 70 tickets that morning

You can stop on double yellows to unload etc, but cannot stop on double yellow kerb lines

I like our traffic wardens at the moment, its only a small town but their like the gustapo around here. However, we didn't realise our parking permit had run out and instead of giving is a ticket one of them just put a note on asking to get it renewed asap.

I have had my first ticket of the year so far..... emptied my glove box in the car to collect this year's tickets..... Got 10 tickets last year, gonna see if I can improve on that lol xxxx

As long as the lines are in keeping with the rules, a court case got thrown out against a person for parking on double yellows that didn't meet the regulations.

London has different parking regulations than the rest of the country.

It depends. If there are yellow lines painted on adjacent kerbs or signs prohibiting loading then no.

Double yellows indicate no parking but loading or alighting isn't classed as parking.

Single yellow means parking restrictions apply.

Traffic wardens get a bad rep because they tend to catch people doing things they aren't supposed to. And human nature doesn't take kindly to that.

In theory they are just people doing a job. An unpleasant one at that.

However, there do seem to be some that take the 'power' to extremes. Parking was fairly lax here and if it was raining the TW might not even come out.

Then they brought in some kind of contractors and things have gone mental. They give tickets to people who are having deliveries to their business, even when the vehicle is in a loading bay.

And then wonder why people get upset
