Like many, i've been on and off this site a couple of times, but lately it seems that Fab has lost its spark. Many peoples status' concur, saying that it isn't 'how it used to be' people letting each other down for meets, people stealing pictures etc, just thought i'd see what everyone else thoughts were!

I'm clear about what I want Fab for. And, right now, it's delivering. So it's working for me in terms of what I want and how I use it.

So I would say it's not Fab that's necessarily changed. It's just each individual will be at a different stage in their 'lifecycle' with it.

Those 'not feeling it' will be in a downward part of the cycle, those loving it an upwards part.

It'll be true of every website out there.

I'm fed up with Facebook, still enjoying Twitter. My Sister is the exact opposite!

We don't get the messages we used to get, but that is our own fault. We have had some major bereavements in the last three years, reminding us of our mortality and kinda taking away the will, for a while.

Having said that, we have had some lovely people message us and we will re-connect when we get through this, but we have noticed a lot more singles and what look to be suspect profiles.

A couple or four of them have contacted us and we have asked "our" questions. Answers were not satisfactory and so we ceased chatting. Maybe we are wrong, but seems lots more fakers!

Tbh I've been seeing that kind of status for a couple of years now so it's nothing new for people to think it's not what it used to be. I will admit the forums aren't as attractive to me as they used to be but I've met a lot more lovely people from here in the last few months than I did in a long while before.

For me it is not so much the site that has its ups n downs, which obviously it will.... but my attitude determines how much I enjoy it.... if im having a down day I find every thread depressing, but on a good day there is plenty of banter... perhaps it is still the post Xmas blues, and definitely the time of year is a huge factor .... In my opinion ..

Been on and off fab for almost 10 years, can't say that I've noticed a big increase in fakes or people wanting to leave.

Personally this time around, I'm enjoying myself a lot more, made some amazing new friends and reconnected with others.

As others have said you get out what you put in on a site like this and, for myself, I'm just really happy at present

I've only been on fab for about a year and it has seemed the same to me over that time. Having said that, I use it mostly as a supplement to clubs so I don't rely on it for meets as much as others might.

We are each part of this culture, making our own part of it work - or not - for us. Change here if it isn't. We also influence the greater culture that we're within.

Fab will likely never be the same - it would be abnormal. It's great and mostly has been for many years.

The UK and online cultures have changed a lot in a small number of years. We're not divorced from that.

Change what you want to, though keep the focus on changing yourself.

For a couple like us it is an easy site to make use of but not a necessity.

It's cheap and the moderation is not too severe.

Some 'established' singles seem to do well but the newbies, particularly males obviously, may find it hard work as is evinced by multiple threads asking (bleating, lol) for advice and guidance.

Maybe it's time to have a separate singles section much the same mould as the 'gay' section perhaps?

we've had a rant on another thread we started - if you want to use Fab to socialise and chat, it appears to have grown in popularity. However, if you are actually looking to MEET people for play it's about 10% effective now as it was 5 years ago when we met on here. That massively frustrates us and, after tonight's let-down we're off down Manchester and have said we will sleep on it and decide whether to leave the site tomorrow. "So what?" "Good riddance!" say some forumites - well, that will be another very genuine couple who have never let anyone down (including single fellas) that will have gone - several couples we know have already gone for the same reason i.e. NO definitely not what it was for "meeting"

When I first joined it was great for meeting straight but curious guys who would never post a profile on a gay / bi website.

5/6 years on, that edge has been lost as the word got out that it was 'the place' to meet straight or married guys.

I can now flick betweeb Fab and the popular gay/bi websites and see the same profiles time after time.

Only difference being that on Fab they often claim to bi-curious whereas, in reality, they have had more prick than a pin cushion and the 'curiosity' stage is well and truly behind them.

I am not saying gay/bi guys pertaining to be something they aren't shouldn't be here, just that it is one way in which the site has changed

I've been swinging for years now,it's not life or death to me,if I get a meet..great,if not life goes on.

What you will find is that seasoned swingers have built in alarm bells when spotting fakes.Some get through, but in general they don't. Just think of it like meeting someone at a bus stop..the same person day after day,in time you will start chatting..it's the same here..keep plugging away..it will happen

One has to accept change. In many ways this site reflects changes in the 'zeitgeist' of the world atm.

When we started swinging 12odd years ago we went to a club in which the 'raison d'etre' was to have sex with strangers in a clubby atmosphere. This suited us as newbie soft-swingers although we were slightly despised by some the 'hard corps' swingers at the time (funnily enough we are now more hard corps than some of them lot now)

That particular club has totally changed to be all things to all swingers and the (old school) jury is still out as to whether that works, however the new school, having known little else, think it rocks.

We feel that this site does suit couples in that we can display veri's, show mucky pics and keep up to date with club and party activities.

We have never used it for private meets and don't envy those who struggle to do so.

The forums have also changed in areas of judgmental(ism?) and cliquishness.

As a couple (contrary to probable perception) we agree on most of what we post. The difference for us is that it is mainly a forum where you can say what you think without excessive moderation about, occasionally, sexual matters and have good swear to boot.

If someone doesn't like what we say then tough because it doesn't affect our other activities, unlike some of the singles on here who appear to say what others want to hear for fear of being 'Fabicidal(sic)'.

I don't enjoy the site that much now and realise what i'm finding on here isn't that fulfilling for me. I like some of the members (or else i wouldn't bother coming back) but the swinging lifestyle isn't for me i reckon. I hate the fakeness and bullshit, also how shallow and unfeeling it can be.

Admittedly since being ill last year we haven't quite found the "Spring in our step" we had.

We used to go out to clubs every few weeks but it's been about 9 months now since we've met and played with people.

Being totally truthful it just feels like we can't quite be arsed with it at the moment.

It is extremely frustrating in London .

So difficult to organise a meet with females , couples . So many of the women are living in a dream world , their egos have been inflated beyond imagination .

As though Susan Boyle is looking in the mirror and cidy Crawford is looking back ...

The competition is fierce ... 5000 males to 100 genuine active females ( 70% looking for BBC ONLY ) and alot of the males are packing big dicks

It is strange there are no other sites similar to this , and no .... There aren't .... Every other site is a load of bollocks , so I suppose for random hook ups ... This is as good as it gets ... I'm afraid its not getting any better

The thing I love about this site is it is so raw , no fucking around , unless your one of the many fakes . I have had a couple of amazing encouters over the last couple of years ... None have been bad .

Someone needs to create more sites like these and somehow more women need to get involved and alot of men need to fuck off .

One thing it is good for is keeping a tabs on the party / club scence ...

When I joined five years ago (or was it six?!), there were loads of people moaning about fakes and time wasters then.

I don't think it's changed much, if at all really.

A small part of me suspects that these halcyon days of Fab when there were hordes of women looking to meet and no idiots/time wasters never really existed
