Wanting to come off the pill but do not want to be unprotected against pregnancy. Use condoms when on a meet. But when I do find the significant one lol. What do you recommend?

You don't want to be on the pill, and you don't want to use condoms with your significant other?

I think you either get pregnant or he gets a vasectomy

There are plenty of other options, such as the implant or the patch?

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I have a Mirena and its great. They're not for everyone though.

Pop along to your family Planning clinic and they'll go through all the options.

You're right. I thought she meant birth control in general oops!

This is the best advice. They will be able to help you choose what's best for you.

I have a mirena coil and I've loved it, but they don't suit everyone. I could never get on with the pill. But in respect of the coil I've read good and bad stories about them.

Edinburgh

The mirena coil made me bleed and have cramps every day for the five months it was in. Persevere they said... takes six months to settle down they said... fuck that said I!!

The implant worked well for a couple of years before that. Speak to your family planning clinic.

From a male perspective, if you have an IUD fitted, then having the threads shortened is a very good idea. My ex had one and we both found out the painful way they weren't short enough.

Northamptonshire

Nick had a coil fitted and it was a nightmare, bleeding continually and moody etc. They didn't want to remove it but she told them she'd do it herself if they didn't.

I have the implant and have never used anything else. It lasts 3 years before it needs changing and only takes around 5mins to do. Had my one replaced last year, so no need to worry for another three

The right place

I've had the snip but still use condoms for health rather than for contraception.
