I go to the coast and look at the sea. I can distract my mind off practically anything by watching waves, especially if it's stormy. Water really calms me, so if I can't do that I go swimming and just plough up and down the pool for enough lengths to clear my mind.

Head to the coast or woodland. Nature soothes.

I agree. I often walk through the woods nearby and there is a stream running through. The sound of rushing water and rustling leaves is very calming.

Running or boxing (if you do want to punch)

Sit in nature and just listen, I find that the best medicine when stressed.

I can be a power cleaner too sometimes. However if I can I try to go to the beach. Nothing is more calming.

I have two ways that help - like you cleaning helps me focus my mind elsewhere so helps. The Henry Hoover gets pulled from pillar to post! Everything gets bleached.

My other is driving - I find it relaxing. I don't mean driving in an inner city - but out into the countryside and finding somewhere to stop and just take in a good view.

Hope you feel better soon OP.

Put on some good music like 5FDP, and play a bit of xbox for about half hour. Just getting my mind off what was bothering me and distracted by something else always helps

Play my piano (currently in storage) or walk by the sea (nowhere near the sea these days). Tempted to drive to the top of a remote hill and scream.

Alternatively, really cheesy music and a good old solo sitting room disco usually does the trick.

Same as me with the sea. Swimming as well properly clears my mind. Exercise, and water calms me.

Go for it, lots of places sell them now, its actually quite rewarding, if your on facebook there are plenty of groups on there as well.

What I like about them is there is no right or wrong colours, its just whatever mood your in x

Maybe put on some music, and try them, that way your trying two de-stress techniques in one.

Music is a tricky one tho, I find sometimes that can make me worse

This might sound weak but focusing on breathing can help. Take in more oxygen, being in the moment etc.. can have a calming effect.

I'm lucky to live in Snowdonia. Sitting on a hill looking down is great for balancing the issues of everyday life. Like others too, loud music I find great to take me to a place and time.

Feeling stressed can be pretty shitty and I think it's a feeling if lack of control so get out, don't let you mind go round in circles on a perpetual loop. Good luck.

1. Lovely deep hot bath in epsom salts and pamper myself with body scrubs and creams.

2. Pop on some loud music, and sing until my housework is done. Most rewarding.
