"You seem normal"

I've had messages to this effect a few times, so tell me is this a really mediocre compliment, or are you guys saying that some of the beautiful ladies on site are as mental as a box of adorable kittens?

Normal is great. I can't be arsed with people who are all "look at me, I'm so kooky". Probably not what they mean by it, but I'd take it as a compliment.

You have two arms two legs and breasts. That's normal. But yes, it's pretty lame.

The arab blokes in Egypt came out with some pretty overblown stuff on the beach to my step-daughter...I love your eyes and your lips I am a virgin and I have been waiting for you. Your husband (we told them she was married) must be the luckiest man in the world to wake up next to your beautiful face...you are a diamond.

She stayed there with the bloke from the beauty salon and I have a camel farm.

Outside of fab i usualy keep my scars covered and most people in my life have no idea i have them.

When some prople have seen them (I've forgotten and rolled up my sleeve etc) and they've seen them after the initial freak out "but you seem so normal" has been a fairly universal statement

You've mentioned your scars on a paranoid way a few times... Your scar is far cooler than any tattoo on here to be honest. I have no idea why it would bother you.

Not sure why this got on to scars but I have 3 two small ones and one large the small ones were a gift courtesy of the Argintinans the larger one a treasured gift from our glorious field surgeons some people ask me about them I say there just a passage of time no more ..... As for self harm etc I honestly don't know but I tend to find that it's not always someone else that's to blame, I made a mistake, but I live with it, it's always easier to put your shit on someone else as most of us seem to do but you cannot heal a mind that has no wish to be healed.

Why would mine surprised by your scaring I've been around many self harmers some so!severe they've been in danger of losing limbs, a guy whose eyes which where scared to fuck from constantly looking them until they bled. I just have a different take and experience on it to you, that's why I raised a question. But if you want to see it as trying to start an argument fair play. I didn't do anything to him, he was gonna leave anyway just this stupid argument made him go sooner than he had planned, he couldn't be arsed to spend his last days on here arguing. I'm fucking so annoyed! People should pick their battles more wisely, have empathy yeah by all means but just cos you know someone who's self harmed doesn't make you more clued up on the hows and whys than someone that's actually done it.

Yeah and it's a sensitive thing and you kept on and on at him then. Who gives a fuck how many people you know that have done it, doesn't give you any supreme knowledge on it. He was saying what his experiences were why couldn't you just accept it instead of arguing the toss.

hey seawitch thx left what you do to him?

I didn't do anything to him, he was gonna leave anyway just this stupid argument made him go sooner than he had planned, he couldn't be arsed to spend his last days on here arguing. I'm fucking so annoyed! People should pick their battles more wisely, have empathy yeah by all means but just cos you know someone who's self harmed doesn't make you more clued up on the hows and whys than someone that's actually done it. "

hey I havnt seen the argument but he has talked about his mood swings in the past x

Wow lots been going on while I've been gone gone from normal to mood swings to self harm in one giant leap

Self harming is a wide and emotive subject everyone is different and does it for different reason and can get into a circle of self harm and self destruction.

Seawitch if the poster is a friend of yours talk to them but don't judge them but try and get them help

Phew ... Hoping for normality to return ...just for the record .. I would say normal in fabspeak means easy to talk to and have sensible conversations with .. A good thing .. Not the best compliment every .. But reassuring and safe

"

mental illness is talked about on here often.

I was questioning him on his experiences, as I was interested. I've seen different experiences to him. I wasn't rude, abusive, I didn't accuse him of anything I was saying what I had experienced as was he.

I said that I found people that reacted the way they did to him rude as did someone else. And I do think they are rude.

If he didn't want to talk about any of it he wouldn't have answered.

" You must just be unfortunate to know so many rude people

I wouldn't describe them as rude.

More concerned well if someone freaked out and insinuated I wasn't normal than I'd find that rude, but each to our own "

I would have said the way he described it was his friends were freaked out because they found out he has issues that they didn't know about and it was more out of concern than being rude.

I consider myself normal and I consider being told I seem normal on here as a good thing.
