Travel/holiday planning that is.

I love to plan my holidays myself, make all the bookings etc., this way, I feel I am in control.

What would you do?

We use an agent - that way if it goes tits up got any reason, there is only one direction in which the letters of complaint need to be sent.

"there is only one direction in which the letters of complaint need to be sent."

And they intern pass your complaint on for investigation, using a third party agent just delays the outcome, should you ever have a complaint, booking direct bypasses any 3rd party agent.

We always book direct, recently booked hotel for New Year 2011 / 2012 in New York, will be booking flights direct once departure / return dates become available.

North Bristol

We always book direct. It's cheaper. I once got a holiday for less than half the cost the travel agent wanted.

I must admit, when we went to Mexico tho - we went via an agent. I wasn't risking my first trip out of Europe going wrong lol.

Travel agent.

Everyone goes bust these days so ABTA bonded. Not cheapest but safer.

I do it all for friends and family and wont stop until every price is beaten on a DIY basis and also handle things if things go wrong with flights etc.

Takes time but is worth it.

Same here. DIY is great and works out cheaper. Not had a hitch yet fingers crossed.

aslways do it myself, bargains are to be had,

use one websight fro the flights and another for the hotels.

The site i use fro flights is ABTA bonded,

The site i use for booking hotels does not need to be as it only tells me if its available, i deal direct with the hotel
