Been so awestruck by someone, that all your cool goes out of the window, and you end up like a nervous virgin asking one of the popular girls out to the school disco.

I've been in this position, and I've got as far as starting typing the message and my head goes numb, its so fucking weird, because I'm a very confident person, and normally if I want to message someone ill do it with no reservation, or even if I see someone in the street ill approach with total abandon, piece if piss, but as soon as I start typing the message it looks no better than a fancy a fuck message.

And heredity the kicker part if it, I'm not particularly trying to fuck her, she's beautiful and all, but I just find her interesting and a great conversationalist, she's never failed to post an intelligent insightful post like ever.

I can't be the only one this has happened to, can I ?

I just list the ability to write anything that doesn't sound as lame as fuck and I have no idea why, and now Thu.king about it I've started this thread, so if I suddenly message them now they are going to know it was all about them, my life is starting to turn into a woody Allen play, maybe I'm not as cool as I think I am, it maybe I am as cool as I think I am and that's the problem, because I'm a man nearing my mid 40s and I still use the word cool, I need a warm bowl of soup and a lie down

Yea at a levellers concert Mark Chadwick was flirtin with me on stage n i was flirtin back but when he approched me at the end of the nite n invited me n my friend back to the party I shat myself n legged it like a giggling school girl! N yes I completely regret no going!

not awestruck to the point of not being able to talk to her but was very surprised a certain woman was attracted to me and chatted for a long time until she left

See that is your problem, once the "fancy a fuck" option is off the table, what can you write? I mean "fancy exchanging some messages" just isn't cool enough

I do sympathise, my head gets empty sometimes just replying to forum posts.

It's quite natural to feel intimidated, but what's the worse that can happen?

Just go for it and you never know.

I've been chatting to some very lovely people this week and am quite surprised about the often innocuous things which can start a conversation

I am always blown away by the people who message me some amazingly beautiful ladies and great friends.

Don't feel insecure or intimidated chum. Just enjoy

I have learnt over the years that I am mot as ugly ir scary as I thought I was.

So believe in yourself and be confident .

Time has tought me I am quite a confident chap and happy in how I look
