Hiya!

Those who know me know that I'm up to allsorts. I'm always doing/learning something different.

Anyway, I want to build a fliable model aircraft. Just something basic for now so I can learn.

Are there any set ratios which I should know about? Wing span lengths, widths, etc?

I made my first model from scratch but it doesn't fly. It's too heavy! I made it from 5mm polycarb sheet. It has a 60cm wing span and about that length fusilage. It has a 3.7v motor with propeller on each wing.

Are there any enthusiasts on here?

Plenty of kits online from you build everything right upto finished complete with electronics just needing fuel. Best to sign upto a model forum

Start small and simple. Balsa wood kits are best.

Just make a glider to start so you've got the mechanics and skills. Maybe move on to cbw - control by wire - before going RC

Have a look at Steve Webb model shop. I think it's in your part of the world. I haven't built anything since Pontious was a pilot. To start with I think you might be better of with a model that is ready to fly or ARTF (almost ready to fly). Many come complete with radio control, Lipo batteries and charger. I would ask in the shop above. Good luck.
