Then don't allow it to be bought, accepting the chocolates doesn't mean you owe her anything just like when a man buys a woman dinner...right?

I'd be more worried as to how she got your number etc, unless you or someone gave it to her

What exactly would you be worried about? If the situation was reversed and a man was offering this to a woman and she didn't like it I would say tell him to clear off, I would say the same to you. If you don't like it tell her.

I would only accept them if they were from hotel chocolat.

Maybe she expects you to bring them on your next meet, you can wear the suit and everything. A milk tray man themed meet.

you should be because that was no woman that was me...and it may have been a milk tray box but the chocolates are infact extra strength laxatives..

If they were gift wrapped, them she had given it thought beforehand. If they were not gift wrapped, that shows signs of a spontaneous gesture, regardless of whatever prompted the action. Even if it was a 2 for 1 promotion or a reduced to clear offer in a supermarket, it's a gift of chocolate from a lady and we all know how much they like their chocolate! It's not as easy for a lady to give it away than a man can. LOL.

The brand of Milk Tray would seem to signify a safe level of gift choice. High quality, high priced Belgian, Swiss or hand made chocolates is going overboard undet these circumstances. Too much, too soon. Getting an economy brand or a posh looking box with foreign words all over, like Aldi and Lidl sell (I am given to understand) is also not going to make a good first impression and a cheapskate.

So, this lady seems to be spontaneous, wants to make a good first time impression and has a sense of humour to become the Milk Tray lady and drop a box off to you in the best way she can. I'd be arranging to meet socially and bring the chocolates along to share, together with a bottle of wine perhaps. If she refuses to eat any, you'll know they've been spiked, but if not you have at least met her.
