With all the brain chemistry and emotions involved with sex, is it possible to spend that amount of intimate time with someone and just keep it casual? In my mind, feelings are going to creep in on atleast one side of the relationship at some point - of not both. Thoughts and experiences?

Somewhere in North Norfolk

Maybe not for you, if your personality isn't suited to that but yes, it works very well for some.

Brighton - even Hove!

I'm good at compartmentalising, so although when I have sex with someone it's a hugely physically input mega overload, I can walk away after without a backward glance.

I would agree, sex is intimate, i also believe two people regularly meeting for sex will naturally develop emotions

Yeah it can work.

Sometimes feelings develop so you have to drop the WB bit but if youre both not looking it works great.

Yes there is. I've never been without a FWBs but on occasion I have had to decline a full time offer.

Not sure. I've been 'dumped' (shall we say) by 2 seperate guys because they've had feelings for me (I'm not available). And I've gotten emotionally involved (not reciprocated) on one occasion. But I've had fun without complication.

Yes it's possible. I'm quite capable of coupling friendship and sex without any romantic interest as is a lot of others I know and meet.

No I don't think it can to be honest as feelings and emotions do develop.

People get 'attached' and the start to 'claim' the Fwb seen it loads on here, the whole he's mine/she's mine (owned) the over gushy posts then when it ends the spats and fall out.

Is it really worth it???

the only way I can see it working is if both people are totally emotionless. And is that possible?

I don't see why you can't have feelings and be casual?

Had two friends and benefits both were for sexual and social purposes. Neither had the time nor the inclination for a relationship so a friends and benefits was the perfect alternative. We met up whenever we both had the time or needed company etc. One even rescued me with my shopping after I couldn't get a taxi home which was kind of him as friends ought to be. One meet up with me in town for coffee and cake! I prefer friends and benefits. No nagging, no expectations, no stress, great care free company and a sex life too. No wham bam thank you ma'am then leave sex scenarios for me!

The top and bottom of it is, if you can't separate casual sex from feelings then swinging isn't for you.
