Bet they got paid alot of money for their story. Trust is so important in this scene and this couple have proved they cant be trusted to be discrete.

won't be going there. i know the press like to exaggerate the truth, but the fact that they've gone to the press about a 'member' of the club is wrong. what happened to discretion?

I know he was a politician, but still a paying customer. how come they didn't go to the press then? because it would have affected their business of course.

certainly won't do cupid's any favours now and I see that their website is closed.

Well, cupids is off the list for us forever! This couple who told the story are sad little people who wanted their 15 minutes of fame! It is obvious they disliked the guy because they mentioned something about "What he did with poll tax".

That said and I don't know the facts, if he was married and playing away.....

There is another club we have just struck off our list too. No names on here because the reason is just personal to us. They are having a visit by the Sport! All that will do is make it more likely they will come back undercover and get some gossip! They will just sensationalise to sell newspapers.

heres a scary thought, Lets say you visit a club on a regular basis. Then good fortune hits you some day and you win a lot of money on the lottery. How long would it be before one of your so called "Like minded Friends" sells you down the river for a few quid.

i wouldnt let that put you of going, Tony and Louise, the couple pictured who used to manage the club havnt worked there for many years, the storys from 2002 and all because he has sold the story i wouldnt have though the new managers would

seems a bit unfair to decide not to go based on a story from 9 years ago when the club was under different managment

Cheesh! This is just the kind of knee-jerk reaction we're seeing so often on here from paranoid people who have an elevated sense of their own self-importance.

How many newspaper articles featuring swingers club do you see accompanied by naked bodies writhing around in various throws of hedonistic pleasure?

None!

Why?

It's not allowed, that's why.

And if you're stupid enough to use your real names when you register at a swinging club then more fool you if someone does expose you somehow.

And just how are people meant to get around the photo ID issue ?

I have been asked for two forms of ID in the past at two clubs, one being a passport or driving licence the other a current utility bill.

He fought against the Poll Tax and was on the television a lot because of that. So that's what they will have meant by knowing who he was because of "What he did with poll tax" not that they disliked him for it.

PS - Not defending the couple, just clearing up a misunderstanding!

I've had two memberships at the same club under two different names and never been asked for photo ID, but I will concede that having never been to Cupids that they may have a different policy, in which case Sheridan is even more of a fool for attending a club where he had to disclose his real identity.

When the story first broke he deined ever having been there, then sued Murdoch and won £500k in damages. He then went on to rub Murdoch's nose in it publicly and that is a man you DON'T piss off as he has far too much money, far too much power, and a fucking big media company to pursue you with.

I think it's fair to say Sheridan asked for what he got and now he has 3 years to reflect upon how he should have said, "Yeah, I was there."

Ohhhh! That's why.

I remember when some journalist (ha!) took hidden a video camera into Libertys... even though he went all around the club the footage used was carefully selected and had no full on shots of naked people...

I always thought that was because of how the guy explained what he saw... unattractive , overwieght, past their best are some of the words which spring to mind.

This may not be the norm for all clubs but I thought that with clubs being private members based that they all operated the same ID policy ?

Ourplace4fun insist on photo ID.

http://www.ourplace4fun.com/membership.htm

And I'm fairly certain that Abfabs asked for the same, their site doesn't mention it tho, so I could have just assumed.

As for Sheridan, he got what he deserved for sure.

AbFabs don't ask for photo id. I've been a member there several times with different partners. I've even used an old membership with a new partner before. Same with Chams, I've attended with a new partner on an old membership.

It would be very difficult to portray the swinging scene as seedy and full of tubby people who couldn't pull in a brothel if your article said, "Wow, loads of gorgeous hot totty and some scrummy six packs on display everywhere, and if you added it all together some ladies enjoyed a good six feet of cock!"

The clubs would be rammed (pun intended) the very next weekend!

Not at all, I'm carrying a few extra pounds myself. It's just how the swinging scene is always portrayed in the media.

I know, what makes me laugh is having been to Cupids on many occasions we have met many many decent people who have achieved more in life than any reporter will ever achieve. I have often thought that people who slag off the swinging scene are people who would love to try it out but simply dont have any backbone or balls enough to try it out so simple call everyone else scum for doing it. did you see the part where it said Cupids was a seedy club set in a seedy industrial estate??? maybe they should move to the trafford centre then. what would they say then??? Arseholes!!

It doesn't do the scene any favours when reporters always pick the dippiest, oddest couple to interview. You know the ones, they look like they travel around in a clapped out Commer van and have 70s hippy throwback clothes and the woman always looks like she's trying to recapture her youth by wearing a ring through her top lip and he looks like Wagner from X Factor.

Not actually a swinging club, but the NOTW had an article about some regular swinging party in a posh apartment where some recent film was shot, last week, which had a distant picture shot of naked people. The picture may have come from their site, or the NOTW could have gone undercover using a hidden camera.

The thing you have to remember with tabloid newspapers, and swinging, is that they are only interested if there is an angle they can use in the story. So therefore, they arent interested in Peter Bloggs the swinging roadsweeper. But they will be interested in Peter Bloggs the; teacher, police officer, fireman, MP, soldier, footballer or sportstar, or someone who has contact with someone famous.

I remember a single guy had a profile on another site i was on, and he boasted about his job bringing him in contact with famous rock stars. That is just the sort of stuff tabloids will be interested in because of the link with a famous person.
