I do.

I shoot or fish, and always kill and eat what is edible.

Haggis....they run round the hill with their one short leg and one long leg, so you run the opposite way round and net them.

I used to go rabbiting with my old next door neighbour.

He taught me to kill, skin and bone rabbits.

Also fish like trout, salmon etc.

I'm not particularly squeamish like some women I know!!!

I used to eat ants. It's not until you look at them through a magnifying glass that you realise how often they just burst into flames for no apparent reason.

Yep. Used to go er hunting (poaching really) with my dad its good if you eat meat to kill it yourself. People would have more respect for the meat on their plate if they had to kill the animal first. I made a promise to myself to eat more free range stuff and less cheap meat from abused animals

I don't want to respect a lamb chop, I just want to eat it.

Shooting would be much easier than killing an animal with a knife but I'm sure it'd be something we'd all just get used to again.

I personally wouldn't eat meat from abused animals in the first place. I can't think of any reason why you or anyone would do so.

Hunting for food can be justified. Hunting for pleasure is another matter. I can't see any justification for simple minded inbreds being allowed to hunt down a small animal on horseback with dogs. But i am not an inbred simpleton so its unlikely i would see any reason for allowing it.

Ok so that might have not read correctly but I suppose they could be described as rodents in human guise

We are so nieve when it comes to meat! when we see it sat there in a supermarket vacuum packed! we just think ooh thats a nice cut of meat i'll have that!! we are extremly lucky we don't go through the rigorous effort of hacking the animal to several small pieces! meenwhile taking it's guts and its anal passage out, at the end of the day it's how it tastes that matters! and for some of us it's bloody lovely with a bit of gravy on!! mmmmmmmmmm gravy!

i'd have no problem killing and preparing my food but as i live in inner city birmingham i'd be a bit restricted as to the kind of game available.

there's only rats, cats and chavs.

I wouldnt actually care if i never saw a peice of meat again.

I eat very little of it anyways and if i do have it.

It has to be the best . I have paid a fortune in the past for aberdean angus, cornfed and free ranged chickens etc.

And i have to prepare myself.

I would never eat meat if out for a meal.

And no way could i buy cheap chickens re two for a fiver in the s.markets or scanky cheap beef , lamb etc.

Think we owe it to the animal to buy the best we can afford

Unless you go to the actual farm where these animals are reared, then follow their trail to the abbatoir then you can never be sure of what the retailer is telling you.

In many countries it is outlawed to claim that meat and poultry is ethically sourced and reared at point of retail....and for good reason

That's part of the attraction of Farmer's Markets. It's certainly a wee bit more expensive than even a good butcher but worth the extra + you can get bread, cheese, fish and so in in one trip.
