"It doesn't make me sleep. It also doesn't tend to help me much with pain. Of course you could be on a higher dose than I took." It does help with the pain a bit but the thing i notice most about it is it makes my face numb ![]()

It's sedative but can also be contraindicated as causing insomnia and lingering mental fog . 50mg is a very high dose. You must be in agonising pain to need that amount. Try Tapering down to the lowest effective amount (inform your dr) Even if you have a legitimate reason to use them. They're extremely addictive. You don't want to left a trammie addictive ghoul begging your dr for repeat prescriptions when you've recovered

Immediately after my operation(repairing the cartilage in my hip) i was taking them regularly and did sense myself becoming a bit dependant on them so i got my self off taking them regular and only take them as an when needed now! Im down to my last 10 or so an after them im not going back to the doc for more... Helps i dont really have time to be going to the docs haha

Hence whyntheyre prescribed in favour of them. 50mg is a standard dose.

It's particularly good for mouth pain and is used often for dental surgery analgesia. It's not usually effective for severe pain.

There's no such thing as a less addictive opioid drug, pharmaceutical companies said the same about oxycodone / Vicodin in the early 90s in the USA.. Drs handed them out willy-nilly, guess what the end result was? Many addicted users that needed to enter rehab programmes to get off them. not by any means stigmatising them and suggesting those who legitimately need them abstain. Caution is necessary when taking them. One my friends developed a trammies dependent.. The withdrawals whilst not excruciating were a bummer.

Very useful compound when used cautiously.

"Whatever you do don't just stop taking them. You need to reduce your dosage gradually. I can tell you first hand that a tramadol 'cold turkey' is not pleasant." Agree with this

"I have these for my back but they make itch all over really badly!! Can only take them now if i take a anthisthamine tablet with it. Doll x" The itching is a sign of them messing with your liver. Speak to your GP and get something else.

Its a synthetic compound which is metabolized as an opiate and triggers the same receptor's. This makes it less addictive than a true opiate. I hatenthe damn things, they make me dizzy and sick so I always ask for codiene (30/500) instead.
