my first jolly rant

Good evening fabbbers, friends and forumites.

I have never jolly well had a rant before . Usually avoid the rant threads. But I am afraid something has got my blinking goat !!

Good gravy I am jolly hopping vexed. I am in all a tizzy with frustrated grumpiness'.

I have salvaged an old laptop, this being for the use of only one thing. I have bought the latest Football Manager simulation game. I haven't played one if these in years.

I cleared the laptops hard drive and ensured the space needed . Ordered the game from an on line retailer.

Today the said game arrived . Ho ho thought I, I will load it up when my dinner is cooking. A rather delish stir-fry that delivered all my five a day in one hit. I popped the dvd in the drive. I had to load up a social network game playing platform called Steam.

I dont want to play online. I dont want some spotty fourteen year-old from Kettering beating the side I have chosen. I have spent many a miserable hour stood on freezing and wet non league terraces to be beaten by any one . I do not wish to play on line.

Its taken for ever to load the games platform. Now I have to load the game. In the time I could have scouted my local pub team. Taken up the managers role. (cue sports fitness montage and rock song) and now have them playing in the Premier league.

Aghh

Ok rant over , on the plus side the stir fry was delicious. Oh and I saw Winter Watch on BBC 2 . What an excellent show. I tweeted in my early pictures of Maythorn in bloom as seen today. Delightful

Ok as you where rant over

Oh btw. Steam is possibly the best thing since sliced bread.

You should be able to get portal 1 or 2 for free through there i highly recomend it.

The best puzzle games in a long time (youll need a mouse though).

You my friend are the funniest but nicest ranter ever! I'd love to over hear you arguing or complaining to some one!

On the other hand, when you get bored simulating games, reading board emails, upgrading your squad, training facilities and stadium and you decide you want to play a proper football game send a raven and we'll play Fifa together

Out of curiosity....which team did you choose to manage and what are your season objectives? X

Hello that's terribly kind of you to say.

I am still jolly well waiting for it to finish updating and loading. So I still haven't chosen a team to manage , probably a lower league side .

Though on the plus side I have watched two rather good programs

I'm absolutely glad you said a lower league side! No fun in going top flight with a good squad and huge budget!

The way it's going though you may as well put net flix, probably get through a season of walking dead before your first game!

On the other hand instea dof ordering online you could have just installed steam, got the game there (or a cd key seller) set it to download before you went to bed and been playing days ago

Same here. Kids wanted a game similar to Minecraft. Bought the pc version, stuck the disc in and had to install Steam. Finished installing and then couldn't work out how to play the bloody game. They got Minecraft online for the PS instead.

Well I still haven't been able to finish loading the game. So my dreams of being a football manager are still unfulfilled.

On the plus side , I watched two interesting documentaries, hooved the lounge, sorted out some of my cd's. Also prepared a lovely stew for the slow cooker. All in all a productive evening.
