So Moffat is leaving Doctor who at the end of the 2017 series, and it is being rumoured that Capaldi with be leaving work him.

This is so the new writer can pick his own Doctor.

Sooooooo..... Who do you want as the 13th Doctor?

I don't know, someone that is a doctor who fan would be nice, David tenant 'got it' because he was a fan, Matt smith wasn't the same as Peter C.

I can't think of any actors that would fit the bill but there must be one out there!! Someone youngish but not too young or too old

No idris or tilda, isn't the whole point that most of the public haven't seen too much of them before?

I know capaldi, tennant etc have been on tv prior but most wouldn't have seen them much

Needs to be someone relatively unknown to most of the public

I get your point but capaldi had been around for years and was a big name, as was eccleston. I do agree that it shouldn't be a BIG name or else it will overshadow the whole thing

At present the rumour is being spread only by the tabloids. The Mirror spoke to one "source" who said that Chibnall "might" like to start with his own Doctor.

Sadly I think Idris Elba will be too busy.

Capaldi was well known before taking the role...hell he as an Oscar. By far the biggest name to ever be offered the role.

I don't necessarily think it should be an unknown actor, but someone who isn't already well known. Part of the problem I had back when Davison was cast was that I was very familiar with him in All Creatures. I was only 8 at the time and I would think a lot of kids today would have the same problem if someone they'd seen a lot of were cast.

The General Post Office, set up in something like 1647 and ceased to exist in 1967 when it split into Royal Mail and BT.

You will still see the letters on older post boxes, telephone boxes and telephone poles as well as a lot of manhole covers

Sean Bean I think would be good, but someone mentioned Eddie Izzard, my first choice would have been Sean Pertwee but he's already said he wouldn't be interested in being the doctor, but didn't rule out another role in the show.

As for having a female doctor, I'd like to see someone glamorous who can make a fool of themselves, I would love to see (forgive me I can't remember the actresses name) the woman who played Alice in luther, but then again that's probably driven by a desire to see a lesbian love storyline between her and osgood LOL

To be fair I've liked all the doctors. I wasn't a fan of eccleston, but I think it was because he quit before making the role his. John hurt was great as the war doctor, big finish have started using him for the war doctor stories.

They could revisit the 8th doctor as Paul McCann didn't get a fair crack at it but his audio plays are great.

Any fan of the original run of doctor who really need to check out big finish they use doctors 4 to 8 now using 10 and started torchwood and unit stories.

I agree about the weak plots Tina but for me that's more to do with Moffat, now that he's leaving hopefully we'll get something fresh.

I'm so sick of Daleks... Daleks... Daleks... it's the kind of show where imagination can run wild yet we get stuck with so many of the same plots.
