I'm coming to the end of my probation at work, and it doesn't look promising. Before you all ask the reason, I can't sell and my sales figures show this. Been looking for a job for the past 2 months, but nowt so far.

So now I wondering if I should quit, and get a decent reference, but no dole....

Or get "probation terminated", which will show on the reference, but can claim JSA

It's a rock and hard place choice.

As part of the probation period have you had no opportunity for training and support?

Did you genuinely fit the criteria of the role (you can't sell, you say, do you want to? Did you apply for this on false pretences? Did you overstate you experience, ability or desires?)

Can you see your manager and ask for support or training because this market is more challenging or more difficult to sell in than what you're experienced in?

Do you present yourself well and create a good image on behalf of the company?

Ask if they can help with you more training ...don't do anything stupid .

Any future employee will ask why you quit.. So you will have to tell them anyway.... Surely it looks better to anyone that you stuck it out and tried your best... Which is all anyone can do
