on the road to nowhere in particular

My job means lots of contact with the public and as such every now and then things don't always go as planned , it's to be expected.

Today however I was assaulted completely out of the blue. I knew it was about to happen a split second before it happened but was powerless to react.

After I managed to get the adrenaline rush under control I phoned the police 101 number and was promptly and efficiently dealt with.

I have been to the police station to report it and I am now relaxing with a glass of wine.

Before you ask I wasn't physically hurt in any way but it could have been worse.

I'm ok, I had a nasty reaction when the adrenaline kicked in, the guy ran off into the crowd which was probably very lucky for both of us for different reasons. but I'm not hurt in any way.

know that feeling from experiace of six years on the platform at picadilly station especialy on nights . we were only allowed to defend but never persue after when we had been assaulted learned a lot about talking people down and calming them before things got that far but you just cant account for the random nutters who just walk up and crack you one out of the blue

I was working night security on the new Westfield, now Intu, in Derby when that was being built in 2007.

Had some weird experiences and managed to restrain a couple of imbeciles that thought they were better than me

It's not good though OP and you should not need to put up with that, glad you weren't harmed in any way

Nobody needs this sort of shit when they leave their house and go to do a shift at work. If you are in one of the armed forces then I suppose that might be a possibility, otherwise you might be looking at a pay rise or compensation
