Deleting messages without replying

People who take time to read your message but delete without any form of reply..... is that jus ignorance by people who don't know any better or is that a sign of people being so far up their own arse about how beautiful they think they are?

No. It could be a sign they don't find you attractive enough to reply.

A sign they have over 300 messages in their box and just think 'fuck it'.

A sign you are not what they are looking for, so just forget them and move on.

Not too sure why you would take it so personally. I have never done this and would at least take the time to respond in a polite manor. I have had this done to me and the amount of sleepless nights I have never had are countless as a result. Next

I don't know which message you're replying to here, but you remain convinced you should always get a reply in spite of some compelling reasons so far suggested as to why that's not the case.

There are also hundreds of threads on this same topic which crops up on the forum at least once a day....

For us if we can clearly tell someone has not even took the time to read our profile before replying we usually just treat it with the same lack of respect and delete it

Also if someone messages us and has no public pics and hasn't attached any to the message either we tend to delete

Nothing to do with being up ones arse

Of course not knowing the content of your message we couldn't comment further but that's our take on it

Anybody who receives at least a few messages daily, I'm sure will back me up in saying that the amount of people who message and clearly either don't read, or totally ignore, profiles or preferences is very high. If someone obviously hasn't read my profile then I wouldn't reply. Im definitely not up my own arse..it's big but I don't actually think it's physically possible

Did you know that once I answer someone's message, even to say thanks but no thanks, then the single male or age filter no-longer applies to them and they can keep on mailing even though I'm not interested. The only option after that is to block them.

I currently have 439 unread messages and around 200 new winks!

Now - do you suggest that I reply to all of those - even the ones I'm not wanting to meet - when not at ANY time did I ask them to message me or read my 'war and peace' profile - or shall I take care of my 3 kids?

We do it all the time as get loads of messages..trouble is when you say no then the next message comes back asking why....so you again say no...then the next minute they say if you ever change your mind etc etc...so we say we wont,then they send personal shit or insult.....get it yet op

I think the key thing is here everyone is here for that something that catches their eye, it's true that some of the beautiful women and couples here and men I suppose in that case get hundreds of messages. For them to reply to each one would be a long drawn out affair when this is supposed to be fun. I get why some don't because it does seem to be the case that some people can't handle rejection. My out look is I am not what most people are looking for if I am then great if not good luck to you x

I would say it's obvious that about 8/10 messages I receive, they are too up their own arses to read my profile but believe they are Gods gift so even though they don't fit what I'm looking for, they'll message me and expect me to change my mind and meet them.

When I've played with a partner the reaction from her would have been "ewww, delete"...and your message would be deleted and you'd be forgotten. Don't try and offload your inability to deal with rejection in any form by making out that the recipient of your unwanted email is at fault. And then, pick up all the junk mail that came through your door over the last year and call them to say "thanks, but no thanks".

Very good I like that ! What I do is open it rip up what they have sent me and send it back in the pre paid envelope which that get charged for. You don't have to do this too I am just saying lol

OP, instead of causing unnecessary angst, just delete all your sent mail as soon as its sent then you won't know what the recipient has done with it. You'll either get a reply or you won't, simple really.

Also to add, we take a look at any profile before we open a message and if it's clear we're never going to meet the message is deleted unread.

And just to clarify... when you delete an unread message, it shows up to the sender that it's been read.

I have just had to get through 568 messages in my inbox.... I simply dont have the time to reply to everyone. It's not a dating site... I dont think it's rude. I get peeved when people ask things that I have blatantly mentioned on my profile... so they get deleted.

If I had to reply to every message I would have to quit my job. Men outnumber women on here.... we just don't have the time (and sometimes the patience)

'wanna meet?'

'i wanna fuck you'

I think it is prob they think they are all that

I don't know which message you're replying to here, but you remain convinced you should always get a reply in spite of some compelling reasons so far suggested as to why that's not the case.

There are also hundreds of threads on this same topic which crops up on the forum at least once a day....

Twice a day and always the same moan...

If a message is deleted then tough - no where does Fab Rules demand that some one answers. Some couples and girls get piles of messages from people who can't read (With that I mean the sending party could not even bother to read the profile of the receiver).

So OP why should they answer ? ?

Errrr! Manners? Politeness?? Next question"

So you are demanding that some girls and couples answer 100 message a day ... Fab is fun and not a profession... Sorry think you don't understand what Fab is about...

Fab is here to be enjoyed and not to take over one's life.

Sure someone will have said it, but when we reply with a polite no it then generates a "but why" or "but I'm perfect for you" and then we end up blocking. Generally easier to assume no reply-no interest as per the FAQ's

It's sad but rejection should not be taken as being a totally bad thing as it should say either she doesn't like your look or your not trying hard enough either the message is not put together in a appealing way or the profile needs looking at ... So I always look at myself never the person rejecting ! Nobody is perfect as we can't like everyone X

At the end of my messages, I always add something along the lines of "Delete this message if you're not interested, I'll take the hint".

I get lots of messages saying how amazing my pics are - they are just summarily deleted as person clearly has not read my profile. Other than that I do try to reply even if it's a thanks but no thanks - but it's not the end of the world if I don't reply - for me or anyone else. Life has much more pressing concerns

Did you know that once I answer someone's message, even to say thanks but no thanks, then the single male or age filter no-longer applies to them and they can keep on mailing even though I'm not interested. The only option after that is to block them.

It is not possible for those people to contact you in the first place so that answers that myth

I currently don't have my filters on, so yes they can message me.

Next 'myth' you wish to debunk??

What if sometimes you want filters on and other times you don't? You can't reset it to re-block everyone you've ever replied to so that's why I don't either.

why would anyone want to say no thanks scores of times daily and why would anyone bother to respond to those who have patently not read a profile etc before getting in touch..

OP if you are straight say and lots of bi and gay men contact you would you take the time to reply..?
