Any1 know anything about what happens after the csa close a case. And the new one that is taking over it place

Well there going through a process of closing cases and moving to a new system.but only new system will open a case if u want to..Otherwise u have to get the money direct from other parent?

There are certainly people that know more but I think what the csa is trying to do is get non-custodial parent to pay the other parent directly.

I believe they are introducing fees to collect the money and pay it to the other person which lowers the amount received.

Apart from that not much. I always figure that paying the other person directly is the best option if it's possible.

So what happens if u don't know anything about the child or his /her parent.but uve been paying for the last 16 year .and the case is away to close .they can seemily still claim til there 20?

..most importantly it explains that as it will take a while to change, you will get a letter re. any changes at least 6 months beforehand so you have plenty of time to ask any questions.

i think you need to talk to someone directly at citizens advice,though it sounds rather odd that anyone would pay someone they dont know anything for 16 years.

If you have been paying for a child you don't think is yours you can ask for a DNA test to prove it one way or another, this has always been the case.

If you accept paternity or maternity you have to pay whilst that child reaches adulthood or in education.

Ignoring csa letters can lead to your ni number being traced and your wages being garnished to pay for any outstanding amounts.

You really have very little option but to pay unless you want it taken through your wages or end up in court for non payment

Then phone the csa and ask. They are the only ones who will be able to tell you the end date for payments

ask whoever sent the letter! if the letter says thats your final payment then i dont see what your problem is.

Is there not a phone number on the letter ? Best to phone them and check. I do believe the child's mother has to contact you directly or ask the new company to get money from you on her behalf and she pays for this service. But I would contact CSA directly to check what happens now.

This a real can of worms. The csa fundamentaly was a good solution but they had very little powers really.. single parents will never be happy, what ever new system comes along... as far as I'm concerned the estranged partner should pay their way, or is that to simple

It works for us and I know the money goes on him and is for him so happy days

If that works for you then it's fine and good luck to you... Unfortunately it's not so simple for a lot of folks... As good as the csa were ment to be, they've wrecked an awful lot of folks.

Being so black and white, they have no leeway at all and that's where the problems are

My ex wife took me to the csa years ago when my 2 eldest boys were young and the csa wrote to me and I quote " we think your ex wife owes you not the other way round no payment is due. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised. However she did get everything the kids the dog the house the car and left me homeless.

Yes I do know what the csa can do to folks I have seen friends go through hell that'd why I set up a private arrangement to stop that from happening

The child is 16 and a half now. .But csa sent a letter saying therr are closing the case n April and to contact each other directly to arrange further payments ..prety impossible as av only seen that girl once 17 and half years ago.
