Same as every walk of life.

The tolerant, the understanding, the argumentative, the naysayers.

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

The forums are a representation of real life.

Today's news is tomorrows chip pape. Next week it'll be something else, that's the main topic (s)

I see your point op but I have to disagree!

The way I see it is this:

Imagine a pre-school class of 30 toddlers. They're all playing nicely until one has an almighty paddy and lies in the floor kicking and screaming!

Do you notice the 29 happy kids - or the 1 screaming kid?

Life's like that - and so are the forums. Sadly it's the brats/bigots/racists/arse-holes of any age or sex who stand out - rather than the vast majority who are lovely!

Ignore the shits op - and big hugs!! Xx

I wouldn't agree with these forums being a representation of real life, people in reality are a lot less bitchy

Well what surprises me is years ago if you go back to slaves etc etc. The working classes were treat as bad as the slaves. No homes that were decent, poor unliveable appaulling conditions, were desease ridden, had a very poor life expectancy and no if any expectation of any sort of long life. Yet its still proclaimed that racism not classism is to blame. Rascism is largely in peoples heads there are lots people who suffer injustices in there lives but most get on with it. Why should who have never , be it from family (historically) come to this country and want special treatment that lets be honest we all suffer some form of ism. This country by the way is much better at looking after everyone else than it is its own. People suffer where ever they come from just how it is.

It's usually the same few posters just repeating and repeating themselves ad nausea (sic), which doesn't mean they shouldn't be challenged.

Some really vile people, quite shocking for those of us not used to it - but at the very least it's a great filter system

Yep, there are some awful _iews aired on the forum, but Fab's racists are a minority really. Most people here are decent.

It's always been the same on here!

It was the same a few years back.

It's easier to 'air' when you're anonymous.

One thing though, I'd say it is not islamophobia. I'm not sure if they are scared of Islam, it's more of a hatred.

I'm very much anti-religion as I was brought up very religious, but I do not fear them, it's more of a hatred. Really, it isn't so much the people either, it's more a hatred of the organisation.

Me xx

Am quite disgusted with some of the racism I seen on here

We are all the same underneath our skin reguardless of colour race religion sexuality

As for that boy who misspelled a word , a bit common sense from the teacher could of avoided that scenario

It never fails to amuse me how some forumites continuously moan about migration immigration religion ethnicity issues etc,,, but become so frustrated at their own inability to present a coherently persuasive argument they resort to punctuating their posts with pathetically personalised attacks on anyone who challenges their _iews......

Yeah,,,,,,,,

I've seen very few if any racism on here!.

I guess if you just state something constantly, it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

Totally disagree. I see very little racism and islamaphobia on the forums. I see very little in everyday life either.

I saw the case of the 10yr old boy as an exerscise in pragmatism and caution. Yes, it was just a dime spelling error but it could quite easily have been something more sinister. A few hurt feelings are far better than 50 dead people on buses and trains.

A point to note regarding terrorist house boyis that the investigation wasn't a counter-terrorism one but a child safety cos the line before was 'I don't like being beaten by my uncle'

Which is exactly the point I made on that other thread. All these threads which the OP refers to are stories which are in the mainstream news and media, people naturally talk about current events. It's also usually the same posters who pop up time and time again who can't put a coherent argument together and resort to screaming racist, fascist or accusing people of being Islamophobic when they have their _iews challenged as demonstrated on this thread.

O o O oo

The problem you have is, if someone has a _iew that is different than others they get called racist/bigots etc etc and then they inturn get called PC bridgade because they have their _iew. Non of which helps any reasonable discussion and ends up a free for all. Maybe the best thing would be to discuss like adults without the name calling. Just a thought.

The best thing to do if you do see blatant racism is, report it to Admin and if a mod hasn't seen it, or thought there was ok to leave on, then Admin will check it out.
