Always add a banana, as this help thicken it out, along with the obvious benefits

Yeah I wouldn't use fruit if I'm honest. Too many sugars. What are your goals anyway?

"Fruit wont help build muscle.

Well the sugar will help provide carbs for recovery but straight after dextrose would be better than the fructose

There's no such thing as a fitness drink. Drinks, like meals are made up of macronutrients (carbs, fats and proteins). Protein is the macronutrient largely responsible for repairing and rebuilding muscle fibres. Fats and Carbs will give you energy (as well as other benefits I won't go into).

To say "X won't do this or that" is completely untrue and one of the main reasons I'd avoid asking questions like this on a swingers forum. 99.9% of the people just don't know enough about nutrition or exercise to answer your question.

A quick google search could have given you much more within 0.000000001 seconds.

Yeah sorry I read it as hed bought one of these wonder shakes that promise results with no change to diet or any exercise. Was the use of the words 'fitness shakes' made me think of a 'drink 3 of these w day and get super buff with no exercise' type things.

Central

If you're taking something as a supplement to your standard diet, to achieve an effect, then analyse what your diet is deficient in. Then work out which additives will provide those nutrients.

Remember, the UK population excretes £millions in stuff that's consumed that is totally not needed, or potentially unhealthy every year. This includes vitamin and other supplements for most of us. There's a lot of woo spoken about all kinds of nonsense, including detox too.

If you've got a good balanced diet then op then add the fruit that you feel like eating.

I take protein after my workouts to help my muscles recover, but to be honest the only way to build muscle is to lift heavy and work out.

Make sure you plan your meals and eat regularly and workout following a schedule.

As regards to shakes, I have a shake in the mornings before work. In mine I put in protein powder, avocado, spinach, kale, carrot, handful of raspberry, blueberry, strawberry and mango! It's yum!
