"If your substituting words for 1 you can spell now that I understand that is what I was trying to say " Arrrr as I said that I get but don't bother. If you don't use the words you want to use it changes the whole meaning and context. Just do what I do and try your best we will get it and enough on here understand to ask if they don't. Of course you will always get the piss takers but that says more about there intelligence than ours

And no, his believing I was talking to him (when I wasn't) made him feel he had to explain he is dyslexic. I was replying to someone else. I also explained this in the original post and why I asked what the dish actually was, as I'd never heard of it and it sounds weird. I forgot to add, how is that even "calling someone out"? It doesn't even make sense. If people are now offended by people asking wtf they're cooking, then that's absolutely ridiculous. "Communication is a two way street. It's not enough to send a clear message but it needs to be interpreted and understood too. Think of it like this. If you were talking to someone who was hard of hearing, an understanding person would try to speak more clearly. Maybe even more slowly in case the other person wants to lip read. If you want to go further you can even learn sign language, just in case. Now look at it from the other direction. If someone finds it a challenge to turn their thoughts into words, then it would be smart to take a bit of extra time to work out what that person is saying rather than look for reasons why they don't communicate the same way as everyone else. Having said that, I'm sure this post will be misunderstood but hey, this wouldn't be Fab otherwise! ![]() ![]() ![]()

"If someone calls you out in that way again, ignore. Don't apologise, the nicer people on here will be polite about asking what you mean. It wasn't difficult to understand what you meant on your cooking thread. I wasn't calling him out. I also wasn't impolite. You mean you really didn't know what he meant by lasagne shepherds pie? Your brain didn't add the comma for you? That's the only comment I could see from you on that thread, which then caused him to explain about his dyslexia. Yes, I really don't know what lasagne shepherd's pie is. I don't think that's far fetched. It didn't occur to me that someone would be preparing 2 completely separate dinners. A thicker skin is clearly needed by those upset by me asking what "lasagne shepherd's pie" is. His comment and apology about his dyslexia was directly under yours. He also mentioned a roast dinner in that sentence. It was obvious to me he was listing different meals. I was surprised you didn't realise that. You weren't the only one though. Directly below me as he misunderstood and assumed I was talking to him, I wasn't. I also wasn't being rude, I was questioning a weird dish I've never heard of. It didn't occur that it'd be different dishes, as I tend to cook one thing at a time. I am truly sorry if I have caused any upset to you or anyone else on my threads. I'm not upset, but I wasn't picking on you or being rude. I thought you ate weird food and wanted you to explain further. " No I eat the same stuff everyone else eats and yes they are different meals made on different days. Chicken Kiev tomorrow night for tea ![]()
