Why do so many people on here have a thing about people being shallow... like it's a bad thing.

Is there something wrong with wanting to feel physically attracted to someone you're about to hump?

Sure when it comes to relationships there needs to be a greater depth.... but.... I don't arrange to meet people to start a relationship or a proxy relationship.

What's wrong with being shallow and wanting to actually fancy someone for their looks?

I have tried not being shallow a couple of times.... and regretted it, well as near to regretting something as I could get. I tell ya, once you find out they are full of shit as a person you don't even have the thought of "oh well at least they were gorgeous" to fall back on and give you some comfort.

I couldn't have sex with someone I didn't fancy. If that makes me shallow then I can live with that.

I was going to say that it's not all about looks for me but that's not right either. It is about being physically attracted to someone, it's just that what I find attractive isn't necessarily what someone else would find attractive and it doesn't always have to be an appearance.

I have to find the person attractive. That doesn't necessarily mean they are classically good looking, but they have to appeal to me - and that's all that matters really.

This is fantasy for me and what shape that fantasy takes is of no concern to others. If that makes me shallow - oh well!

The people who accuse us of being shallow are the ones who we've said "no" too.

No one likes rejection, so it's probably a natural reaction to hang onto a bit of pride or self respect may be?

As a couple we've both "taken one for the team" in the past, but we wont do that ever again. I bet most couples have too.

If your ugly then people who don't want to meet you are shallow because they won't fuck you.

If your good lucking then you can be more fussy who you play with.

nothing, i wouldnt meet someone unless i was attracted to them, no matter how nice they are

i have known some people for years from clubs and parties who ive met many times who even tho they are really nice people i would never play with then purely down to their looks

i really dont see that as shallow to be honest

not talking to someone based on their looks, to me, is shallow, being friends but not having sex with them isnt

not sure any of us can partake in sexual activities with people we dont fancy.

we all have things in our profile determining choice as in wont meet smokers..aged from..etc etc.

would hardly call the preferances shallowness

have to say doesnt matter if i had the hottest guy in the world ready in bed ready to go ,if he had an awful personality or dull as dish water then hed leave me cold !!! rudeness,arrogence ,selfishness,lying ect all very ugly traits and would would make best looking person ugley to me . doesnt matter how handsome he was i just wouldnt enjoy it.its not right way or wrong way ,just what feels right to me .

think as with anything in life there has to be ballence .yes there has to be a certain attraction but that may not be about the looks .a person may not be classically good looking but have that "xfactor" that gets your pulse racing ,be it their sense of humour ,caring nature ,easy conversation or love of life ect . doesnt make you "non shallow " for wanting that,its just personal perference.

if you find a person who pushes all your buttons and you enjoy and feel comfortable in the bedroom with, does it honestly matter if it was looks based or personality based ?

We are not into quickies so they have to be able to hold a conversation for inbetween play...but we can normally figure that out fairly quick.

I don't think it makes you shallow, it just makes you honest. I have to feel an attraction or I believe I'm being dishonest to the person and myself. The attraction for me needs to be a mix of the physical and mental. An ugly genius or a stunning numpty isn't going to do it for me.

I get the impression that some think you should be happy with sex for sex sake, I'm not in that camp.
