I liked Tom Hardys performance, especially as Ronnie Kray!

I wished the film focussed more on their gangster lifestyle and dealings rather on Reggie and Frances love story. I didn't care about her at all!

I also wish they included the Frank Mitchell story.

Tom Hardy was very good in Legends. He was so good that my mate came out from it and didn't realise he'd played them both. I can't imagine him filming the fight scene between them

You can document without celebrating. For example, serial killer films. Or 9/11 films. Or any natural disaster films. It's just modern story telling.

Indeed you can and should,,,,

But glamorising it in books like the Profession of Violence and movies that portray their lifestyle in some kind way that gives the celebrity status detracts from the reality of the being a pair of horrible evil bastards....

But they pretty much were minor celebrities at the time. A lot of Londoners remember them fondly, and they're the people who are telling the stories. Not many people tell negative stories.

Things will always be romanticised.

I agree the cultivated themselves into celerity status with the cooperation of many people who sought to gain by association,,

Meanwhile hundreds if not thousands of innocent people lived under that shadow of fear they created and suffered at their hands either physically ....emotionally or financially....

The Krays were not good people....

Titz Towers, North Notts

Whenever there is a film about the Krays released someone will always say that they kept the streets safe, did a lot for charity (but didn't like to talk about it), helped old ladies across the road, rescued kittens from trees.....

They were just criminals and unsavoury ones at that.

Love a good Krays anecdote. Seems all of London knew them or they sponsored their Football teams.

Bollocks. Gangsters kill scum or other gangsters, they live and die by a code of integrity. the government are the biggest bunch of thieves and crooks.

southend

The Krays is my favourite film of the twins. Rise of The Krays was crap. Legend looks a little more promising.

I don't agree with the romanticising of crime and The Krays in general, but a lot of older people remember The Krays fondly. I work with ex-criminals and some of the older ones have done time with the Krays or someone from their gang or the opposing side, they generally don't have good things to says about them.

Gangsters kill or maim anyone who gets in their way, they aren't some kind of modern Robin Hood.

this and maybe the assumption that they were fondly remembered is more likely to be still remembered with fear..

It's not an assumption, I've met several people who talk of them fondly. It's not so far fetched to believe they were liked by some very vocal people.

I have my problems with some parts of the film but I really enjoyed watching the film in the cinema, great film. Tom hardy is a great actor and enjoyed seeing him in the film.

Thinking about it now, I kind of want to watch it again
