this is mainly for other guys opininions but ladies feel free to join in

when did the rest of the uk adopt the jordan/katie price school of applying make up. it seems nowadays women slap it on with a trowel and for me its a massive turn off i prefer naturally pretty as opposed to covered in slap

i expect to get abuse from some women for this so i have just grabbed my tin hat

You want women to look naturally pretty because that's what you like?

Fashion/style is constantly changing.

I don't.. I wear eye liner and mascara though

. Lots of it..because I'm naturally blonde but now have black hair and I look like I have no eyes without. But nothing else.. Unless someone asks for red lipstick

Its personal taste and style. Celebs just let people know whats in.

I wear alot but do it in a natural way. It never looks like im wearing much i dont think. But thats just my preference xx

I agree with you and blame it on the contouring trend that erases all natural face features to replace it with this weird highlighted and shadowed face

I can't remember the exact date but when you was a young woman the fashion was for bold colours,thick eyebrows and bright lipstick. For men and women. Peacock blue and fuschia pink eye shadow was my going out make up.

Naturally pretty is all well and good but....(ducks behind sofa at this point)...what if a woman is "naturally plain"? Surely make up gives them the confidence to go out and have fun.....this and the crazy pressure from fashion magazines/TV/media in general.....

Each to their own I say.

I don't wear make-up other than some lip gloss mainly cause I'm way too lazy to be arsed with the maintenance of full make up.

However, we're all different and I don't have any issues with other people wearing whatever they like. It's really not my concern.

I think it's down to the art of applying make up, some just don't know how to apply. I wear tons of make up but I learnt how to apply and what colour, styles suit me.

I think it's EU metric trowels that have messed things up for us Brits. A creosote soaking can appear both light (thin covered) as well as dark, emulating fine foundation, though messes your bath something terrible.

Warpaint can be good too, allowing you to stand out from the crowd.

I've seen face contouring and don't see the point as you see in celeb pics sometimes it looks terrible.

I wear makeup a smidge for work and when I go out I amp it up with a full face but I never look like it's caked on as I can't stand it.

Nothing worse than seeing that colour thing around the neck area.

One thing I am anal about are my brows I have HD brows done, pencil them lightly for work and more dramatic on a night out because they highlight your face.

Also fake tan does my head nothing wrong with a healthy glow but mahogany aint my shade

I only ever wear make up if I'm going out and not even then half the time. My first date with my partner I wore no make up at all, it didn't scare him away so I think I must look alright without it caked on

But it's very much personal choice, some women love lots of make up, some just a bit and some none at all

I think it gives some women confidence and they feel better and think they look better with it on.

My preference is for very little, i wear tinted moisturiser every day. Some days I wear lipstick which I do like wearing. But my "going out" makeup is literally tinted moisturiser, lipstick and mascara.

I have no inclination to waste time putting a full face on especially seeings I'm not going to be looking at it.

I don't have any make up .....natural everyday

I can't be arsed with the faff of putting it on plus I have sensitive skin that gets easily irrated and same for my eyes

Oh....and I think I make a right hash of applying it

But I dont get the perma surprised eyebrow thing.

As with many things in life, knowing when to stop is a good thing.

I am concerned about the number of women I see who have the big lashes, big hair, orange face and nails done and think they look amazing, but seem to totally neglect the rest of their body..

I wear make up every day even if I'm not going out I wear lip gloss, I like it. I also style my hair, put perfume on and dress nicely, I believe I'm worth taking care over and that Mr N is worth making the effort for.

Obviously if we don't have dinner guests I will only wear the second best tiara and leave off the false lashes.

That its like a checklist..as long as those bits are done they consider themselves amazing. Its not for me, but as a dad I want my girl to see herself as more than those superficial things..on my last holiday sat behind 2 girls who looked like that. Before we landed they spent half an hour doing their eyebrows and tango make up before getting off the plane.

I like make up, I love the way I can completely transform my face.

I don't wear make up to work but I do when I go out.

I've always been lucky with my skin, it is smooth and even toned but I've never smoked, drank alcohol or sunbathed too much. I don't wear heavy foundation. If you haven't got flawless skin it does look better to have some kind of foundation on.

It's a concern when you have daughters I agree and peer pressure can be very strong. I sometimes think its lack of confidence and these things are like armour.

Sadly girls and women will chase approval from others in the form of conforming looks wise and I don't envisage it ending any time soon.
