Sometimes U.K

I recall reading a 'Sun' article a few years ago about using a public jacuzzi and what germs you could possibly pick up.

Truth or not?

I reckon you could probably pick up a bug or two.

Same as swimming pools.

Depends which jacuzzi , how many chemicals are used , who's been in it and doing what .

Much more likely to be more germ ridden than a swimming pool due to the concentration in a smaller space .

For once, the Sun may be right.

Apparently, the average person before washing has one-tenth of a gram of, erm, bacteria in their bum crack. 5 people in a jacuzzi and you have a spoonful of faeces joining you.

If not properly maintained public jacuzzi will be full of germs, they thrive in warm water, I'd never use one myself, swimming pools are usually cooler than you'd expect, purely to keep germs from multiplying if they're in there.

If you do happen to end up in one, have a good shower afterwards.

If after smelling the chlorine in the chams jacuzzi you think any self respecting bacterium could survive longer than a few seconds you're mad!
